i wouldnt be too upset about culpepper missing part of the start of the regular season.. we really don't need him till November..Look at the teams we play only 2 teams who made the playoffs to start the season until nov 5 versus the bears. So i'm not too worried about culpepper not ready for the season..I would love to see him in the opener but take your time daunte

I agree about taking his time until hes fully fit but i would like to see Daunte fully fit hopefully at the start of the season. Gives him more time to settle in and get comfortable with his new team. Its not a gimme that we will win the first month or so of games anyway. We dont even have a proven/decent back up QB at this time.

We need him ASAP. He needs to develop chemistry with the players and more importantly he needs to play in live game action. I don't think it would be in the team's best interest for the QB to start his season in November. We don't need to rush anything, but let's not act like we'll be ok because of the teams we play.

i agree but were a hell of alot better than those teams w/o culpepper playing

After losing to a team like Cleveland last year, you would think people would stop taking NFL teams so likely. Just to play Devil's Advocate, we didn't make the playoffs last year either, so why should teams not expect to beat us as well.

I wouldn't be soo ****y if I were you. Anything can happen in the NFL so to say your not worried about the first few weeks may come back and bite you in the a$$.

I agree with you Wallace...

Unless CPep is absolutely 100% then I think Saban will sit him until week 5.

Excuse me, but who do you suggest can fill in for him right now ?? Brock ?? Cleo ?? No, we need DC to start game one, as of right now..that may change...

Our team with culpepper on the bench for a few games will be better than any team with frerotte as the starter.

Yeah the guy only helped us win our last 6 games of the season. Who would want that on their team??

C-Pep needs to start. One is that even if we do get a backup QB there isn't enough time for him to learn the offense and be COMPLETELY comfortable in it. Secondly we have nobody to step in for him yet. Lastly we need him in there to start building offensive chemistry, some people are under the delusion that he's going to just be able to jump in with players he's never played with and be right on the same page. That is going to take all of preseason for that to happen and probably a couple games. C-Pep must start.

Well lets all call Reggie Howard back , he was part of the six game win streak and lets not forget Sage Rosenfels who you can credit two of the six victories him having apart of. We won alot of games with Fielder and guess what I would prefer not to have him back. I was just stating a season with Culpepper missing a few games and having a great QB is better than having a backup play starter. If you disagree that Frerotte is a backup show me the team that picked him up to be thier starter this year. Hell Aaron Brooks foound a gig and Jon Kitna may have a gig why not the great Frerotte. Chemistry or no chemistry Culpepper is way more talented than any Qb that saw our roster last year. I feel great that we did not put off contending by having the so called caretaker Qb. I guess we was going to waste some more years of Z Thomas and J taylor so we could wait two to three years for a roookie to be ready.

I would be alot more comfortable with Gus Frerotte back to pick up the slack, anybody we get will be in a new system, new receivers etc.... atleast Gus was developing a rapport with Chambers.
