Belichick comments on how he prepared for the Dolphins

Thooght that Marony Ypc dropped from 8 to 2.1 against the Fins.

how hard do you think it was for belichick to plan against the mull man ****.they knew the play to the outside was coming. being with the bills last year just gives them 2 extra games from last year to read those trends.and we still should have won the game .

It was easy. Let the Dolphins make mistakes. 2 INTs and penalties will cost you the game everytime. Its a bit cliche now, but wait until next year...

I found this to be very insightful.

I suppose you could assume that Coach Saban has a similar systematic approach toward preparing for third down.

i hate the pats but it was a good post, enjoyed reading it

i think the stat about the Pats-Jets game was interesting, their efficiency on 3rd down is most likely directly related to the head coach coming from the pats coaching staff

The man is just a genious.. Saban is not even near his level!!

Um, I think you mean 'genius'

and I think if you go back to Bellicheck's first years with the Clowns and the Pats, you will find he looked v. 'un-geniouslike'

Success makes everyone look smart. Even Shannon 'The Mouth that Roared' Sharpe looked smart in the Broncos offense when they won SBs, that doesn't mean he's a genius, just that he was in a system that worked

Saban is still gathering the personnel and getting everyone to know and trust the system he's putting in place. Not that we should give him a free pass forever, but he deserves last season and this one, at least, and then we'll determine whether he's a genius or not. He sure looked pretty damned smart after a six game winning streak at the end of last season

Third down efficiency is what probably every coaching staff in the NFL aims for, not just the geniuses from New England.

Saban and his geniuses worked on it a lot in the offseason and pre-season

Unfortunately that didn't carry over to the regular season, but third down efficiency comes from team chemistry and everyone knowing their role. We're working on that and hopefully getting there

anyone else think the dolphins are turning into the raiders east? this has been happening for a few years now. the dolphins beat themselves!! it's almost too predictable how they get a big penalty, drop or turnover in a crucial situation. if you recall during the shula days we were the least penalized team and always played smart. it has been a very sad sight to behold the last decade.

yeah shula's teams were always one of the least penalised teams in the leauge so that has got to be coaching and not just dumb luck

now that i think about it .....it is the coaching the way our o-line always bleeps up do you think that would happen in the army/military nope they would make sure they got it right these players are not very bright or poorly coached it's one or the other and no one can say different
