Just read on the Houston Texans website that 2001 Dolphins major first round draft bust - Jamar Fletcher is starring in training camp. He was slow and small and had great difficulty covering bigger faster guys in Miami - but maybe he is finally coming good. I have difficulty believing it!

that seems to be the trend these days around miami, players that go to another teams and play well. atari bigby, who we cut in training camp and donald lee are both playing well in green bay to name a couple more.

Fletcher was great in college. He was one of the better Nickels we had. It had to be a little discouraging for him when he was here playing behind 2 pro-bowlers... perhaps knowing that you have Zero chance of starting might effect your work ethic. Perhaps the lights finally turned on with him.

ps. I liked Fletcher much more than I like Lehan.

They must be hurting at CB down there in Houston!

....."Houston, we have a problem".....

lehan is way better than fletcher was when he was here. didn't cost a 1st round pick either.

Chris Gray, who we threw away, just retired after a great career.

That is our luck.

7 years and his best year was with San Diego in 2004 37 tackles and 4 interceptions.

Last years 19 tackles and 0 interceptions shows how obviously average he is

what a terrible pick--we can't be sulking over guys that go on to make a career after leaving us. If they didn't add value to the team, we shipped them out. It's good to see Donald Lee playing well in GB, but if I remember correctly, the guy couldn't catch a cold, so it was justified.

i remember hearing a interview when he was drafted he said something to the effect of i know they have 2 good corners out there but they better watch out im going to miami to start

I find it funny how Will Allen was picked after him and has been hooking it up.

Second time we did that, same last name.

In the early '70s we cut Leon Gray who went on to have a great career with the Pats alongside John Hannah.

It works both ways, look at Moses. I'm sure there have been others, that's just the first that jumps to mind.

I, like you, found this hard to believe at the time this was reported.

...and we were right, CUT.

i totally agree with this comment, i loved drafting him was pumped, but he never had the chance to get out of being just a package man
