lol I keep doing these questions i hope no one is annoyed its just cool to see everyone's opinion

Ok tougher question because Bell and Wilson are pretty even in my books both good at different aspects but bring the same level of play

Dude I think they are pretty close, both can lay a hit. It will be hard to tell since they will be playing different positions. Tuff to compare.

They were listed this way by a couple of "expert" sites just as FA started..
They listed the best first.. So it looked like we got the 3rd and 5th best Safties in this FA class.

Safeties
1 O.J. Atogwe FFA St. Louis Rams' most valuable player on defense; one of the best at his position at forcing turnovers
2 Brian Dawkins UFA Philadelphia Denver Joins a Broncos defense in need of secondary help
3 Yeremiah Bell UFA Miami Miami Bell will team up with newcomer Wilson to man safety spots
4 Sean Jones UFA Cleveland Talented but needs to improve consistency
5 Gibril Wilson cut Oakland Miami Was productive in only season in Oakland; Dolphins moved quickly to sign him
6 Jermaine Phillips UFA Tampa Bay Had 59 tackles and three interceptions last season
7 Jim Leonhard UFA Baltimore Instinctive; can also return punts
8 James Butler UFA N.Y. Giants Developed into a solid starter
9 Atari Bigby RFA Green Bay Was a difference maker in '07 but banged up in '08
10 Gerald Sensabaugh UFA Jacksonville Athletic playmaker, but off-field issues a concern

JMO but as they are incredibly similar in style of play... Aggressive 'hit first' ask questions later types...

I would give the slightest of edges to Wilson only because he is a slightly better 'ball hawk'... Although 2 INT's does not qualify for 'ball hawk' status it is still better than Bell's 0. Bell was always in the position to make the play but dropped the ball literally. I am not trying to cast any kind of shadow on how he played last year as his tackling abilities more than made up for it but we really could have used a few more turnovers on 'D'.

Also Wilson is only 27.

You just have to love having them both.

Wilson does have 13 career interceptions to Bell's 1. Wilson also has the edge, IMO, because of his versatility to play both FS and SS. Bell's 10 passes defensed further reiterates how often he is in position to make a play on the ball whether it is to knock the ball down or intercept it.

Good points! Can't wait to see these two play beside each other.

wilson has been solid his whole career whereas bell only the last few years. at this point they are similar at far as talent. but id say wilsons durability, youth, and consistency would make him better.

Well i like that the votes are close it shows that both are pretty much equal can't wait and see what happens

Hey we still have Culver right i like him to be our 3rd man at safety he proved to me last year he can play with the few games he saw

Our Safeties are top 5 in my books

They play different positions..so I really don't care which one is better than the other.
agreed. and they are both brutally awesome in their play. together they will essentially shut down the middle of the field :D
