Ben Wallace joins Stephon Marbury and his Starbury movement...

One thing no one can say about Marbury is that he never fell out of touch with reality at least in relation to life and perspective. When he did the deal for the cheaper sneakers he prefaced it by saying something to the effect of "its a lot more important for many of the kids to understand that something doesnt have to be expensive to be worn by a pro athlete and that the money a lot of thsoe kids want to spend on something is needed for putting food on the table and a roof over their heads but kids dont understand that when theyre young". It was a pretty moving piece that Newsday ran on him and it changed how I felt about Steph as a Knick fan. i felt I gained a lot of respect for him when I read that because he actually wears the shoes himself.

thats one of the reasons hes my favorite basketball player, even though im a heat fan, i have a lot of respect for him because hes doing this. he makes no profit by endorsing them and he promised a free pair to every varsity basketball player in NYC

yup Marbury is the TRUTH he thinks about the kids who don't have opportunity to purchase thoose basketball shoes that are 150 and such.

I got me a pair of Starburrys for $14.95...they are sweet....powder blue and white.

I think its a good idea.Could keep the kids from killing each other.Saw a piece on this the other night. The only difference between Marburys and Jordans shoes is that Jordans are made with leather.Other than that...Shoot I might get me a pair.

On top of that I hear theyre selling quite well.Selling out as a matter fact.

dre,
the only way to get the kids from beatin each other up over some kicks, would have to have all athletes do something like marbury... i highly doubt nike, adidas, and reebok would ever let lebron, kobe, ai, tmac, etc walk away... and im sure the athletes dont want to either... althouhg, im actually surprised more players dont follow in marbury, shaq, and ben's actions.

Starberry could turn at to be as popular as Jordans if more and more players jump on. The only problem is the big time players like kobe Garnet Lebron etc have contract with the big shoe companies.

They sell the Starberrys at the Citadel mall at Steve and Barrys. First pair of hightops I have bought in probably 15 years. They feel really comfie and I won't get pissed if I scuff them like I would with some $100 Air Jordans.

SHAQ has been doing this for years now...

The SHAQ shoes are a bit more expensive though...they go for $24.95 retail insted of the $14.95...

Him and Lebron were talking trash and Lebron said he cant see himself or nike stooping down to that level. They couldnt see themselves stooping down to charging only $15 for a pair of shoos. To which marbury replied, "Id rather own than be own"

The Starbury shoes have been tested and compared to the Wade sneakers, Kobe sneakers, etc. foot experts said they are horrible for your feet lol.
