When Tony Sparano benched Ginn vs the Bills game and said that he was now going to lose some of his playing time to other WR's on the roster, it seemed to light a fire under Ginn.

Ginn was visually upset during the Bills game. He was angry and cursing because he was benched. It seems that this motivated Ginn for the Jets game.

As we can see, he only caught 2 passes, but he BURNED the entire Jets D for that huge 53 yard bomb for a touchdown.

I think Ted Ginn is the kind of guy that needs motivation like that. If Coach T can keep the guy motivated and focused, we can have a decent #2 WR with Ginn.

They used him like he should be used. Not as a starter but as a WR who can come in and make plays in certain situations.

He beat Revis but the safeties were held by the play action fake which only worked because we were running the ball well. Then Henne threw a perfect pass which hit him right in the chest.

I'm going to wait and see if he can make a big catch with a defender on him and he has to reach for the ball.

Until then, I'm still not thrilled.

You may be onto something here.

If he isnt just handed a #1 spot, it makes him hungry & motivated? Maybe that motivation stays with him and he keeps improving?

Pleas take a look at the seahawks game, bills game, and jets game last year and tell me that ted ginn cant make a catch with someone on him. What a joke...

Don't make to much out of it. He ran a nice route that Revis didn't get turned quick enough. Once he had Revis by half step he used the route to create separation. Ginn has made some nice catches that were tough but he has dropped to many gifts or just disappeared into the night. That's the concern. Hopefully he can continue producing but at this point it's wait and see for me.

Everyone who was hating on Ginn is trying to make every excuse about why they were wrong. They were all saying how Ginn's lack of big plays had nothing to do with Penny, yada yada yada. Now they are trying to say that Sparano motivated him and only NOW is he playing better. Whatever

C'mon folks admit the truth. Henne's arm allowed him to make that throw that Penny would not have even attempted. There were many others like that left on the field the first 20 games Ted played with Penny.

I think your excuses are cute and funny though.

But, let's see how many big plays Ted comes up with in the next 20 games with Henne at QB instead of the guy with the high school arm.

I bet he winds up with more than 2 TD receptions like he did with Penny. Heck, he already has one in just 2 games with Henne. That's a damn good start.

I'm willing to bet that all of these excuses continue as Ted keeps making plays instead of the haters admitting they were wrong about Penny being the cause for Ted's lack of big plays.

Check 6:40 mark. ;)

Its ok, because Ginn hasn't been Chambers ppl are calling him not #1 worthy. Chambers didnt even have good numbers but for once in his fifth year. Ginn will be #1 worthy, give him some time with Henne and all of our ideals of Ginn will change. We've seen what he's capable of, everyone just wants to see consistency, and we will.

I wouldn't be so quick to make these kinds of judgments.

What would we have been saying had Penny been a bit closer to the Mark in that SD game? Would we have felt that he needed the motivation?

What if the lights had been in his eyes Monday night, or there had been some unnoticed level of contact by the defense, and he didn't come down with that catch? He'd be the same Ginn, but your opinion of what's working and whether or not he's improving would be completely different.

That said, we should all be happy he helped win that game and hope it happens again next week.

Consistently is the key. I think most people see the enormous talent he has, but some of the plays he makes are down right frusturating.

Maybe the question is .... How to we light a BIGGER fire? Where's Mrs. O'Leary's cow??:rimshot::lol:

hahaha one game, get a grip you guys. And the one big play was a result from his speed purely, not any other of the skills that we know he had struggled with thus far. I want to see consistency, not just one touchdown that was a better throw than catch.

ROFL..Its not excuses the fans are making. Its fans excusing 2 years of non performance by Ginn for him making a huge catch in a huge game.

I posted about how easy Ginn's job now is. All he has to do is make one deep catch a game, and those of us who complained about him will be happy. ONE CATCH. Can he at least to do that? We'll see. If they throw to him across the middle, or one of those passes that Cam caught the other night, its their (coaches and QBs) fault when he drops those passes. He isn't that kind of WR. Hes a deep threat. And thats all he is. And it just may be enough.
