IMO we are alot like the Bengals. We had Wanny and he took our team down the toilet. We got our Marven Lewis in Nick Saban and things are changing, He (Saban) is getting his players (Ronnie Brown/Channing Crowder/Travis Daniels with more to come hopefully QB) and getting rid of the guys that are a problem (Still to come) Just as Marvin Lewis got his guys (Carson Palmer/Rudi Johnson) and got rid of the problems (Dillon/Spikes/Warrick). My point is it takes some time, but if you look at the Bengals you can see what a good Coach will do. Just look at all of the top teams Colts, Broncos, Steelers, Panthers, and the list goes on, what do all of them have a good coach and yes good Qb’s. Give Saban a few years to fix all of Wannys problems. We will be 8-8 and beyond soon.

agreed... unfortunatly, fin fans demand perfection immediatly...

we are spoiled with constant winning seasons... they dont take a loss very well...

i dont know. getting carson palmer is the whole deal. i doubt saban ever gets that kind of QB and he certainly wont be drafting 1st

We can be a lot more like the Bengals if we draft a USC QB in the first round. ;)

Good post.

Seriously who has Saban brought in himself that hasn't really produced?

Maybe McDougal, and Linehan, although I could argue Linehan is still trying to get familiar with his talent, and the lack of play isn't Linehans fault? other than that I can't think of anybody...

Oh... please, please, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saban really has an easier task considering it is much easier to get free agents to come to a city like Miami than it is to get someone to go to a town like Cincy.

its true... think of who he has brought in...

Ronnie - stud
Roth - has been great vs. the run
Crowder - an animal
Daniels - even though teams try and pick on him, he still has been solid
Shulters - solid
TBucky - injured... but was solid before the injury
Kevin Carter - Played outstanding
Holiday - solid
Traylor - he is a BEAST
Tillman - Been a very solid backup saftey and filled in well for Tebucky

McDougle - sucked
Sparagan - played aight... not great
Gus - just isnt a starter

You forgott Tillman who has done just fine filling in for Tubucky.

but thanx for explaining my point further.

It's a shame that the JJ defensive draft picks are geting so darn old. Probably wont be around to share the fruits of this labor.

Well siad, but I think this will fall on deaf ears. People are set in their ways and want instant results especially Phin fans. Good post...I happen to agree.

I remember when JJ was the coach and we were 10-6 and I was upset because we didnt win 12 games.

good point about Tillman... I added him ;)

but for real... look at the guys Saban has brought in?! All performing well except for a couple... give him another year or 2 of this, and then people will see the effect Saban is having...

bump...
(its just a good thread)

I think in 3 years we will have no Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Sam madison as much as I love Zach and Jason they are getting old and will end up being traded while they still have value.
