I've been saying it for yrs. It's too harsh and we've just seen a bogus flag that amplifies the penalty. I'd be fuming if I was Bengals HC.

Yeah. That rule was implemented back in the days when the rules made it hard for offenses to move the ball, so they needed a way to open up scoring chances. In this era, the rule is antiquated and completely and utterly unnecessary.
