Watching tonights game was the first time I got to actually see Bennie Anderson. At first I thought he is so big a good nickname for him might be Bennie "kitchen" Anderson or Bennie "house" Anderson or Bennie "elephant" Anderson.

Then I watched him play and thought the only appropriate name would be Bennie "Air" Anderson because that is all he is blocking most of the time. My goodness he got schooled. They showed one iso tonight when I believe it was Jenkins who took a step to Anderson's right and Anderson missed blocking him by at least two feet.

If Anderson doesn't lock on to a defender right away he is left blocking air the whole play. Absolutely "NO" lateral movement. He cannot play in space and no way be able to pick up blitzing LBs on a regular basis. IMO if the Dolphins don't find a better alternative we might need 10 QBs to finish the season. It is easy to see why Buffalo released him.

Thats why I wish we had addressed the oline in the draft instead of taking a project every year. We should move Carey or Mcintosh to G and have the other play tackle.

I agree, he looked terrible tonight. He looked just as bad against Tampa Bay. This could be due to either his late arrival with the team, lack of experience with our offense, or he's just plain bad.

McKinney being out hurts a lot now. I think our line would've looked lightyears better if he was in the lineup tonight.

Hey give ol' Bennie a break - after ALL, the Panthers 1st team D-Line is pretty damn good ya know!

OTOH - he did resemble a turnstyle on several occasions ... :shakeno:

The line did pass protect fairly well but the run blocking was pathetic.

Unfortunately Hadnot swiped at the air a couple of times early on too. I hope they work things out and start firing off that ball more or Ronnie is going to have a disappointing year compared to what it could be. I realize Carolina d -ine is good, but that was a very poor showing of run blocking.

Rex Hadnot didn't fair much better then Anderson did. Hadnot got schooled too. Jeno James looked pathetic and slower then hell!!!

i believe the line is out of sync, yes... just as it was last year, early on... but anyone who thought Bennie Anderson was the answer at RG was a fool... he's described as a "turnstyle" exactly, in two scouting guide's i've read... his pass blocking for the Ravens/Bills was at times beyond a liability, but a danger...

didn't he miss the entire 2004 season? he's depth, IMO...

i've always thought Carey would make a better guard in the longrun... why won't the coaches force the issue?... we seem to have better depth at tackle... and our guards are not special, even with McKinney, and especially if Jeno is falling off and Hadnot is in the pivot...

But we're not doing truly special things on offense (like this team is on the verge of) with Bennie Anderson at RG... no sir...

Man do i wish we went O-line with that first pick... Nothing against Jason Allen at all... but, Davin Joseph could have been the smart pick at the guard spot for us... From South Florida too.... He'll be a stud for the Bucs...

I think Joe Rose called him "the best high school football player i've seen down here"... a lineman...

I agree. I am beginning to see what the Ravens fans and Bills fans are talking about. He sucks as of right now and could be the liability on offense for us.

Just wait until ck gets on and rips him a new one for his play

Offensive line play overall, as far as run blocking is concerned was just pathetic last night. Benny "The Penalty" Anderson (coined by Bills fans) stuck out real bad the last two games. I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, because they have had a tough preseason schedule (Jax, TB, & Car). Those are three of the toughest defensive lines in the NFL. I think they performed ok against Jax, but they were flat out out-muscled against TB & Car. I'm hoping these tough match-ups will help prepare them to become a better unit for the regular season.

DId you guys actually expect him to change when he came to Miami?
