Benny Sapp or Will Allen ?

If it is between Sapp and Allen... You keep Allen and don't hesitate,

Hoops stated it best right before my post.

In a division with the Pats and the way teams are spreading their offenses now-a-days Allen, regardless if he is a vet and our 4th CB will be needed and much more important then any of the young guys that seem to still need time to develop. No reason to get rid of Allen when he is the better option

cut ness keep sapp...keep will allen if you can't trade him...keep carroll and smith...cut something else someplace else

will allen provided he's gonna be able to practice during the week and play on sunday barring trade should stay...we're gonna see a lot of teams trying to spread us out with 4 even 5 wrs this year we need as much cb depth as we can get
Dont we use extra Safeties defensively to counteract those 4-5 receiver sets? I forget? That means having both Jones and Clemmons on the field with Smith, Davis & Sapp or Will Allen.

ness has at best average boundary cb tools...at best...i'd cut him 100 times before i cut nolan carroll...i'd be more willing to let the guy with the better tools develop...what you gonna develop when it comes to a guy who doesn't have tools???

nate ness just doesn't impress me at all...there's nothing about his game at cb that makes me think thats something to build on or that gets you excited

Allen. He can cover all over the place. It allows the defense more flexibility on corner blitzes. Allen can play man, zone, cover an opposing team's #1. Ideally I would want to keep both though. Sapp is no scrub. Sparano has a ton of really tough decisions, which is a really good thing.

You guys need to have more patience for the young guys and less patience for aging vets.

Barring any injuries neither Caroll nor Ness will see alot of time on the field. Why cut them? Let them develop. And if this regime doesnt feel that Carroll or Ness is worth the development then they need to watch the cut list for young CB's to develop.

But you also have to take into account playing the pats twice a year. As well as other teams having spread offenses. Will Allen even at #4 is better then Ness/Sapp or whicheve this young developmental guy is at #4. Only guy you keep for developmental purposes over Allen is Maybe Wilson. But when you have Davis and Smith at CB you don't need to worry too much about developing a young CB.

You don't downgrade at a position just because you wanna develop some young guy who is already a couple years into the league

i still think with the way allen was blitzing in the bucs game that he was being showcased to the rest of the league...i have to watch the boys tape to see how they used him and how much in that one but there's a lot of teams who could use a solid veteran cb in the short term

if its me if i can trade will allen i do it if i can get some solid value back...

provided i can trade allen vontae and sean smith the starters...sapp the nickle...carroll and wilson the 2 deep on the boundary...

if i can't trade allen he and carroll are my 2 deep boundary guys and wilson is creeping up into that mix

I could be wrong but I just cant remember us ever using 4 Cornerbacks, normally 3 CB's and a few safeties. Of course I could be wrong since i still get very confused with many defenive formations.

we're likely gonna shift sean smith into that rover safety roll on long downs and distances ...but then you want vd on one boundary and likely will allen on the other...carrolls the next boundary man up in that scenario but wilsons creeping...sapp the nickle

Now, let me clear the air by saying I fully beleive Will Allen makes this roster. This regime is notorious for taking the safter option whenever an opportunities present themselves.

I can definately see them considering Will Allen as their safe backup plan in case Something happens to Smith or Davis.

Also, after keeping Allen last year and paying him like they did after he was hurt...they would look like idiots to cut him now...

I'll never understand the infatuation with Nolan Carroll. Nothing special about him at all and I don't see this major upside everyone raves about. He looks no better than he did last camp/preseason/season.

Personally, I'd keep VD, Smith, Allen, Sapp, and Wilson. Not saying I'd cut Carroll, but I'd put him on the bubble with a 6th WR, 4th RB, etc. and choose between them all for final spots.

They both will stay with us the competition between Allen and Sapp is just to see who will play Nicklel corner. I think Caroll leaves. I prefer wilson.
