A Texas-based journalist is reporting that (Bears first round pick,
running back Cedric) Benson has put a house he purchased in
Libertyville shortly after the draft back on the market, and has had a
pair of cars shipped back to his home state. Call those the counter
moves to Jerry Angelo's ill conceived "final offer" press release.

can you say: "Not going to report, EVER"

Yeah you might look at it that way. I am just so glad that we stayed away from that guy and his idiot agent.

Wow, the bears have the worst luck in the NFL.

Actually make that in all of professional sports.

Well can you blame him if they weren't able to agree on the contract

its just that hole of a city ****cago. they have the worst luck and the worst teams. ya the bulls were good for a few yrs and the bears for 1. but other than that they suck.

It just keeps getting worse for them.

TOUBORG you have the coolest sig:D

Kind of, the bears we're offering around 16 million guaranteed, which is what the player selected 4th should get. If I'm correct I think he and his agent were wanting a contract similar to the one Rivers got last year. Which IMO is crazy considering the circumstances surround last years draft and the obvious fact of Rivers being a QB.

Seems to me that this is all on Benson and his agent. They told them ahead of time he was not going to get the money River's got...yet their holding out anyway.

He is probably selling it all b/c he was expecting to have money by now and he really can't blame anyone except for himself. Make those tears on draft day seem like a pile of manure.

So what happens next? Does he become available next year in the draft or something?

Is it me, or are agents becoming what lawyers used to hated for?

Yeah if he sits out all year he re-enters the draft next year.

K, thanks. Realistically, does he stand a chance of holding out this year, entering the draft next year and getting a better contract? Figure it would have to be better then he had, because he loses a full year of salary this year. Dumb move I think.

He'll sign as soon as the bull**** ends. Both sides posture and bluff and in the end the kid comes in and he's way behind in his development relitive to getting reps and being ready to play. This hurts him and the team that counted on him but some agent gets a little extra money. The system needs to be reworked.
