Berlin vs. Feeley

Rothlieberger had better stats than both for Miami of Ohio, does that mean he is the next Peyton Manning? Hey Richie Williams for my Appalachian State Mountaineers had better number than Peyton did in college, but he plays at the division 1-AA level so I can expect him to have more success not passing against ACC CB's. I guess people dont understand LEVEL OF COMPETITION around here.

I think you're the one that is ignoring things. I'm saying that you have to consider the quality of the team you're playing with as well. It is easier to accumulate good stats when you are surrounded by better players. In other words you have to take the the stats with a grain of salt and consider the surroundings, both your team and your competition. So just taking the stats and ranking players based on just that is foolish. This is what you did in your original post. Then you post this crap comparing Roth's college stats with Mannings as if it were my argument.

I'm not going to add any analysis to this thread or read any of it...

I'm just going to say a few things.

Brock Berlin is here as a fourth arm. He is here to make sure the other 3 Q.B.'s arms don't fall off from all the throwing they will have to do in camp.

Brock Berlin will not see the middle of August. He's cut after 2nd preseason game.

Do you honestly thin he would throw 7 more td and no ints and up his completion percentage that much with 3 more games.

Dude I really tried to stay away, but you make it so hard to do. You are one of the most biased people on this board. We get it you dont like AJ, cool, that is your right. No problem. Problem? You are so adamant that everyone accept ypur opinion as fact you border on the ridiculous. Can anyone honestly say what AJ might have done the last 7 games? Not for fact. Neither can you. what was it 13 tds, 15 tds and 6 ints? Projected the same percentages out it is 24 tds 11 ints, aint that bad. But he could also have gone on and had a bad streak as well and finished 20 tds and 19 ints, who knows, tjose are just AVERAGES. You cant compare a qbs full season stats to anothers half season stats, ones is actual based, one is partially based. and like I said if you project the partials out to a full season it is not a factual comparison.

So I am sorry if I dont take your word for it and wait for Saban to actually give the one that counts.

My sentiments exactly. Berlin will never succeed in the NFL. Feeley I stil have some hope because of the glimpses we say last yr especially against the world champs Pats. I am really hoping Feeley can really pull himself 2gether and earn that starting job.

Need I add that Feeley was in at the time QB U following Akili Smith (flop) and with Harrington (flop so far), a school that has made qb's look better than they are.

If you're gonna do that, you should add that U of M also makes QBs look better than they are. Pro-style offenses can make college QBs look better than they are when playing against sub-par college derfenses. Just ask Toretta, Erickson, Steve Walsh, etc.

Well I Disagree Berlin Will Be Our 3rd Qb Sage Will Get Cut You Heard It Here First.

Reading that camp report about the team on the bohemian website, it sounds like Berlin is cut fodder and Feeley is garbage as always. If Frerotte can stay healthy, I think we'll be in great shape.

So why don't we bring in Jason White....you know the Oklahoma QB who Dick Vermiel told should "try the arena league"........he had far superior COLLEGE STATS than either of these guys playing in a very tough conference.

Or maybe we can trade next year's first round pick to the 49ers for Ken Dorsey....he also had a superior college career......at Miami so he should be the answer to our problems.

Or could it be that college stats mean absolutely NOTHING?!?!?!?

Without most of us being fans of school in college and having no preconcieved notions about either player, I would say most would go the berlin route especially since he has the stronger arm not just the better stats.

Berlin stronger arm???? paaaa lease. Also, Berlin had a much stronger team then AJ in college, not to mention AJ was comoning off of an elbow operation. Berlin is barely 6 feet tall.... come on dude, seriously.

berlin is 6'1 brett farve 6'2 not a big diffrence except for the stats farve is a hall of famer.

Berlin got a bad wrap coming out and an unfair one at that.

Feeleys one year starting in college

149 of 282 a 53% completion rate with 15 tds and 6 ints.

Berlin's senior year

195 of 342 a 57% completion rate with 22 td's and 6 ints.

Why is there a thread called Berlin vs Feeley???, that's a non issure this year Period..

Thoose are college vs. college stats, feeleys pro numbers are a joke I didnt post them.

You cant make a comparison simply on stats to judge a prospetcts talent.
Many QB's in the college ranks looked great in systems or as a result of a team having much better athletes. UM Receivers have been making some VERY sub par UM QB's look fantastic for years. Gino Toretta being the best example, he won a Heisman trophy, is clearly a better QB than Berlin and still could'nt hold a starting QB's jock in the NFL. All Toretta had to do was lob up "jump ball" passes with the talent the UM offense had. Berlin is not a good QB. He makes bad reads and saying that he is inconsistent with accuracy is being nice. Berlin is not known for having a strong arm either so your statement that his arm is better than Feeley's dosnen't hold much water either.

Feeley may not end up being a good starter but he is clearly a cut above Berlin regardless of what stats you want to throw out on the board.

Hilarious post!

Not trying to say he should be the starter, just trying to get you guys to understand he really isnt as bad as we all think, and Feeley isnt as great as we all might have thought either.

You'll see how bad Berlin is when he doesn't make it past the first round of cuts. I wasn't posting here when we had Heupel and Kustok- were there 4-page threads comparing those two twits to Fiedler?

I wish we had never picked up Berlin. Its a low risk move so i dont blame them but god Im so sick of people posting about him. If his names was Joe Johnson no one would even mention him, everyone would just assume that as a FA rookie that he was camp fodder but because he's Berlin he's given so much attention here. Guys he probaly has 20-30% chance of even making the team.
