When the starter plays most of the first half, and you need to get some work in for the 2nd string guy too, there isnt much time left for the 3rd and 4th string guys. Sage came in with about 8 and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter, but only had 2 series. The deeper we go in preseason the longer the starters will play and you'll see less and less of the guys "on the bubble". At least until the last preseason game anyway, when the starters will only play a couple of series and the scrubs are given one last chance to prove they belong in the NFL.

maybe its foreshadowing that we are going to bring in couch in, and Berlin will be the guy cut when we bring him in. Sage/AJ/Couch fighting for a job.

Berlin defintly showed that he can play. If you thought he was the future you're mistaken. he was just a nice story to follow for awhile, but i never thought he'd beat out sage or anything.

Berlin might have gotten one series if we had stopped the 3rd and 4 play just outside the 2 minute warning. We were calling timeouts so Saban definitely wanted one more possession, either with Sage or Brock. But Pittsburgh hit a quick slat for a first down and the game ended with kneel downs.

Guys, when are we all going to realize Berlinn has not showed anything. He has had two good drives. Both out of shotgun, one of the two ending in an INT. Until he learns to play under center he will not be a good qb in this league.
