Ok i just saw the practice squad on the front page news here. Berlin didn't make it?

I don't understand how that happened... The guy pretty much outperformed every other QB on our roster, had a 95 QB rating, and that doesn't even qualify for practice squad?

Granted that was all during garbage time, but there were 3rd string QBs out there that only played at garbage time and put up crappy stats. i thought brock did relatively well, considering.

anyone else notice that? anyone else remotely care? ;)

i agree with you man

Berlin played pritty well i think he should of made it on the PS. Especially since Saban was the one who was always talking about how good he looks and how happy he was that Berlin signed with him.

I was on the Send brock to NFL europe bandwagon. I think he deserved that. TO make the team? No, not now. But hell, we have no qb prospects, and NFL europe dosn't count against our roster or our cap, so why not?

It kind of bothers me that we have no developemental qb. I know that Berlin isn't great but there were so many other young qb's that i think we should have taken a shot at and kept around on the practice squad. Even if these young guys dont turn out great you atleast will have a young serviceable backup who knows the system lingering around.

maybe b/c im a UM fan, but i wanted to get rid of that kid the day he got signed./

I care, I loved the kid during the games he played. Maybe he just wanted to collect some paychecks and Nick helped him do that? Maybe once he was let go, he decided to do something else?

He is only effective in the Shotgun formation. This is the NFL now...
This is a strong statement about outperforming every QB because it was v.s players looking for work right now.

I don't care what he did at UM. He played good for us. Say what you want about 3'rd string, and I know. But to keep him around in NFL europe? How does that hurt us. He impressed me enough to see how he turns out in a few years.

i see what some of you are saying, but keeping him on the practice squad? that doens't hurt us our count against anything, we have no developmental QB..... why not? if we get a good QB in a freak trade or something, THEN let him go. i just don't get it.

oh well.... good luck to him then.

Brocks going to the arena league, and in 5 years hes going to sign with an AFC East team and make us all pay!

give me a break... he doesnt have NFL measurables... a weak arm for the pros and a tendency to go completely brain dead.... he wasn't even reliable in college with all-american talent all around him...

i would argue the Miami Hurricanes could handle many NFL third-stringers he'd been facing this preseason... big deal...

if he was a worthy pro, he'd have stuck.... ESPECIALLY with our quarterback deficient roster....

I am a UM fan, In fact, I am a student at UM, and I wanted to see Berlin do well.

Has he signed somewhere else? Is he on anybody's practice squad? I mean I have not see him play but there might be a reason why he was not drafted, was not signed and is not on anybody's practice squad ......

NFL Europe doesn't pick up again until the NFL offseason. That being the case, the only way we could hang on to him that long is to put him on the practice squad until NFLE opens. THat may be why we didn't keep him.

No, he didn't do very well...It's more than just the 15 plays we saw him play that decides his future...Also, if we had an established solid QB as #1 and a veteran backing him up, then perhaps he would have stuck for longer. But seriously...where is all this coming from...he was camp fodder...an additional arm, that's all...He couldn't do anything at the U with all the talent he had around him...what makes people think he could have done anything here ??
