“The potential for the offense and the group of guys we’ve got, the sky’s the limit,” Bess said. “We’ve just got to continue to buy into it, continue to work hard and keep grinding. Everybody knows what everybody’s doing and everybody can play every position, which personally helps you with the overall concept of it.” http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/a...-Offense/6b580c9b-cd42-43bb-a007-8cf884b4ca7f

I like the bolded part the most. That is KEY. Understanding the concept of each play is what every player needs to focus on. If you know what the goal of the play is, it makes it a lot easier to know what your job is. If you know everybody else's job on a play it allows you to know which adjustments you can make without screwing the play up. For instance, you dont want to cut off your 9 route if there is supposed to be a guy running a 10 yard out underneath you. When everybody knows the concepts and their complimentary routes, plays have much less of a chance to break down, and plays are executed at a much higher level and percentage.

Amen to that.
Just reminded me of our wildcat plays years ago, with players (and coaches) not knowing what the hell we should do, calling timeouts, etc. I think this WCO will give the players rhythm, and they'll know where they can make the most in their plays, and how to get each other open. After watching Henning and Daboll-Ball, it seemed like everyone was grasping at straws to try and get any yards they could, not to mention, Chad Henne throwing checkdowns every other play since nobody was on point with him. It didnt help either that Sparano would try and publicize a "run-first" attitude, then switch to throwing the ball more, soemtimes almost too much, which left us playing for FG's because we couldnt gain any rhythm and Still didnt know how to attack inside the 20's. Now that our offense has an identity, I think this will change as we grow throughout the season. I expect a learning curve, but by the end of the season, I think we'll be able to dial up plays like the best of them.

That's about as optimistic as I get for a Dolphins offense, haha.

Now we do not have one WR expecting the ball not caring if he is open or not. We do not have a WR making up his routes as he goes along.

Who a player like Bess who runs very good and crisp routes, this offense and new coaching staff is a God send to him.

hope we find another diamond in the rough like Bess with these young receivers

I think/hope that this is why we are not bringing in some old WR. We are telling these young guys, it is open, the brass ring is there if you work hard enough to grab it. No extra guy is here to keep you off the team, maybe the best 3 young WRs make the team and the next couple make the practice squad.
