me and my wife go down every year, and just get a Hotel/flight/car deal from expedia. They are usually the best prices we can find and have been pretty happy with that. We get the rental because we prefer to stay beach side and just drive around. And we fly in to Fort Lauderdale because its easier to drive and get around from there (from what we have found.)

and what just buy tickets down there? or beforehand?
herd something about Shulas hotel doing some package deals too...

Would fully suggest flying into Fort Lauderdale. If leaving from Trenton, look into Frontier, if you can make it up to Newark, you really open your options with Southwest and Jetblue. Those airlines are value carriers and do not fly into MIA.

If only coming for 2 nights, I wouldn't get a car rental. Its great to have a car in South Florida but once you factor in rental car fees, parking at stadium, potential hotel parking fees, gas, tolls, etc. You probably could taxi/uber around for the same cost or less without worrying about drinking and driving or getting lost.

Next big choice is "Do you need to be on the beach?" It is fine if you do, and Hollywood has some solid choices including the new Margaritaville resort. Personally I would wait a bit to see if any Hard Rock Hotel packages come open with the stadium deal in effect. Not near the beach but just so much to do with restaurants, shopping, gambling, beautiful pool area, night clubs, comedy club, concert venue, etc.

I always book seperately on everything but I have travel agent credentials so its a bit easier for me. Expedia can have some solid package deals and they float a coupon every once in a while.

I would try to buy tickets beforehand. You can pick your seat location better. It's not like you get a chance to go to games often . . . May as well sit somewhere you think will be more comfortable with a solid viewing angle. But again, package deals announced from places like the Hard Rock or Duffy's Sports Bar could include them so that is another route.

Dude, I go every year for the past 20 years, I live in Morris Count NJ..Stub hub the tickets and parking passes, Get blue if you got the cash, get orange and get there three hours before game time and you can get right on the edge of blue parking. Go to a game in oct, nov or early december, avoid thanks giving..The airline tickets are cheep has hell during that time because the kids are in school. Fly into west palm or Ft Laud..Early 7am flights are the cheapest going down and 7 pm flights coming back on monday. We play golf everyday, winston trails, boca manucipal, abacoa and Jac aranda are our top courses. We stay at the Embassy suites in deerfield beach, free breakfast and free booze from 5pm to 7pm...Cool pool and ocean if you are not going to play golf. Brus Room http://brusroom.com/ is a half mile walk from the hotel, the place kicks but..about 35 minute ride to stadium.

Now that all being said i would avoid any northeast team games because they take over the stadium and drive the ticket prices way up. Plus all the people down there are from up here...We are going Dec 11th Cardinals. Will be the cheapest... PM me if you have any more questions...

this trip will be based mainly around my kids(and of course myself but no golf or anything) so hotel and such would need to be kid friendly.

Good info. I booked the Mondrian hotel and haven't got a rental yet but Uber and car rental fees along with parking and sun toll pass about the same? Hmmm

100 percent agree with Kdawg. Fly into Ft lauderdale for sure and use Uber forget the car rental. If you can afford it you can stay in Hollywood at the new Margaritaville.

If not Hollywood and FT. lauderdale have plenty of options. That will be a littlle better kids wise IMO than staying at Shulas which I like by the way but more for adults. You can uber to Hard rock one night if you want.

If for instance you stay in FT Laudedale its a no brainer to Uber. The parking fees to park will almost cover the Uber plus you dont need to worry about drinking. I just did this a few weeks ago even though we live local. Uber was there each time within 3 min.

If all you plan to do is roam South Beach and only need transportation to get to the airport/stadium and back, there is no way I do a car rental. Hotels in South Beach charge like 40 bucks a night to park (you can do street parking but its annoying on vacation and still costs good money) and you pay the higher expense in South Beach to not leave the area . . . It is a convenience not having to drive.

Yea, depending on your budget, definitely look into Margaritaville for accommodations. It is pricey but it is ideal for family and right on the beach. If on a budget, there are tons of hotels that do the free breakfast, wifi, parking thing and also have good pool areas.

With family and you not in adult party mode, a car could be a good thing in your situation. Buy one of those disposable grills, bring the football and do a little tailgating or link up with the Finheaven tailgate scene.

I've always booked things separate but only b/c I'm a cheap ****. I always fly into FLL. Fares seem cheaper and I know how to get in and out of there easily. I always rent a car b/c I like going to shop, go to South Beach, look for hookers, etc.

I usually stay on the coast. Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood. God I love the trip.
