Decision to fire Philbin has already been made, but Ross is waiting for after the game to let everyone know as it will be a smoother transition with the bye.. Front office knows, but neither do the players or the staff.

Fins end up winning a close one by sheer luck in spite of Philbin

We head into the bye at 2-2 with Lazor in charge... With Philbin out of the way, he decides the pss happy approach with the worst pass blocking OL in the NFL was quite stupid and decides to go ground and pound for the rest of the year with Gray and Miller sharing snaps... switches Thomas with Turner and gets creative with putting extra linemen instead of TEs occasionally. ..

IT'S A LONG SHOT! But I think this team could put up a fight with a different mindset on offense...

The only reason you fire philbin it's too send a message that t his cap it's not acceptable. Nothing changes with him there our not there. Plus you can start putting out feelers for hc

That would be best case, but I can see Miami winning and Ross going into the locker room and saying he just extended philbum.

Actually this scenario happened last year after the Minnesota win.

I'm with the OP. Not cuz I am a fan of Lazor at the helm, but Philbin needs to go and we get a win. Also wouldnt mind getting rid of Colye and bringing in Schwartz, but that is a Madden type scenario at this point.

I am not a fan of Lazor either, but if they give another uninspired performance like last Sunday Ross must do something or not only will the coach have lost the team but Ross could start losing fan base.

Am pretty sure Miami will beat the Jets this weekend thus saving Phil's job for two more weeks with the bye. Just like the Viking win last year.

the dumb thing about that was Ross jumped the gun and didn't have to do it after that game. And, it's not like we played well - we won on a blocked punt for a safety.

The even dumber thing was how easily swayed he seemed to be by the moment.

It was like when i promised my unborn child to Greg Camarillo in 2007. Turns out he didn't want it. :idk:

There is no best case scenario for this season. God forgive me it's like watching the Passion....you already know the ending, and you know it's going to be torturous and painful and heartbreaking, but you feel obligated to watch because thats where your heart is. But you know it's over. You just know it. And what's worse? I just know deep down in the pitted core of my guts that we're going to end up with Mangina, and it'll be another 4 years again before we may see a blessed bright ray of sunshine.

I have a doctors appointment, I need a temporary long-term prescription to get me through this.

No way Ross will fire him after a win. He doesn't have the balls for that.

Hell, the man extended him a year because of one fluky win over the Vikings.

i gotta say reading the op was the happiest i've been reading about the dolphins in 3 weeks.....

and that's all while knowing it's hypothetical and unlikely

We ain't going nowhere with Lazor either. Let these bums run into the ground and clean house, I'm tired of the half measures.
