the way the draft is shaping up and the teams ahead of us, the best available offensive players will be long gone by the time we pick at #9 but do we pass up the chance to draft the best available defensive player at #9 ( Alan Branch, Adam Gaines, Jamaal Anderson, Leon Hall, Laron Landry, Patrick Willis, Amobi Okoye, Darelle Revis and Paul Poslunsky ) just because we need help on offense.

First off, you don't know for sure all the offensive-9th-pick-worthy players will be gone. That is a very questionable assumption. I believe the Dolphins should make every effort to land the BPA within these positions: OT, QB, WR, DT, OLB, CB. If none of these player types are there...trade down. Miami has to do into this draft thinking OFFENSE. Only Branch is the only defensive player worthy of the pick. After that trade down!

It is very possible that Quinn could drop to us at the ninth pick. A small possibilty but something that could happen. If this does occur the Dolphins would be in great posistion. We could pick Quinn, or trade down a few spots to a team that nees a QB and would be willing to pay a huge price to get him. An example would be the Carolina Panthers. I have a feeling they would be more than willing to trade up and would give up a couple of extra picks to swap !st round positions.

If he's there, we take Quinn. If Quinns not there, and Gaines Adams is, we take Gaines. We'll take Gaines over most the players in this draft.

I doubt that trading down is going to be an option since this draft is chuck full of talent and it's just not worth losing the pick to move up to get a slightly better player.

I think the only way to stockpile draft picks would be by trading and what we have to trade wouldn't get us very many first day picks no matter what we wish and pray for. I think our players are more valuable to us versus trading for draft picks. You never get true value unless the GM your dealing with is a complete moron AND YOU CAN STEAL SAY A #2 for a used or abused QB.

Not so sure I agree. I think Okoye will be better than Branch. He's quick, and a lot more heady/crafty than people give him credit for. I wouldn't mind seeing the Dolphins trade down and get some more picks though.

Oh mama now that would be a sweet deal. Get an extra 2nd or somthing would help us big time. We could get Woodley

Nah... Feeley wasn't used and abused by then...

This draft is not chuck full of talent........I don't see any thing out there that is great! If we keep the pick go with need, Levi Brown. This is the year you find your fifth round stud linebackers!

Levi Brown will be around as will Dwayne Bowe and possibly even Brady Quinn all three positions that we need help at more than any on defense and just as much of a gamble as any defensive player we took with that pick...

Not to mention the fact that a defensive lineman even drafted with the 9th overall pick would probably not even crack the starting lineup on our defense. Why don't we pick a player who can help us now so we can finally start winning again...
