Despite everyone loving the panthers d-line. I strongly and honestly feel Miami has the best D-Line in football.

Then people might say well depth wise they do.And that is true but we have the best front 3 and front four in football.

RE- Jason Taylor- do I need to explain?
DT- Holliday- always great vs the run but has 6 sacks this year
DT- Tractor Traylor- huge, a top run stuffer and has 4 sacks.
LE-K-Cart- Has been great in Miami for two seasons.

Then the backups
Roth- young, a little undersized, but they call JT undersized.
Wilk- Big and strong, I wish he got more play time.
Zgonina-IDC what u say about talent, he works hard and is atough player.
Bowens- One of the more under rated Sack Specialists.

JT has always been considered "undersized" because of his weight. But we all know that doesn't really matter.

And with Evans and Vickerson as reserve guys, plus next year having Rod Wright (and maybe Manny Wright if he grows up) this is the deepest DL talent pool in the league. It may be the best starting four as well, but I'd have to say that age is the one knock on us.

were right up there at the top...the panthers d-line is overrated too

I just wonder why it takes a little while for this DL to really get going.

We basically have the same bodies now as we did a year ago...but they've been a whole lot more deadly the last 4 games than they were the first 7 games...and last year they were a whole lot more deadly the final 6 games than they were the first 10.

I think it takes the team, in general, a long time to get going. :-)

I can't give you a non-speculative answer, but I'm sure glad they are showing it (especially when they will play a team coming off a 200 rushing yard effort).

our d-line definitaly has to be in the top 5, Panthers and Jax also have very good d-lines.

You know, I have wondered that too. I expected them to dominate the line of scrimmage this year after learning each other's moves & signals last year and saying they had better chemistry now.

The ONLY thing I can think of, and it's a stretch, is that because they are an old crew, it makes a big difference to these guys to get rests bewteen defensive series. That means that when our offense is struggling and going 3 and out a lot, they will struggle more, and when our offense can hold the ball a little or a lot more their effectiveness goes way up. Obviously our offense was dismal in the early part of the year and is much better now.

Additionally, we were not getting "coverage" sacks early in the year because of the inconsistency in the secondary. Even worse, there were enough totally blown coverages that the QB often had an easy target to choose so he needn;t hold the ball as long on every down.

I feel like they WERE stopping the run effectively early on, so that, to me, wouyld indicate that when the secondary was removed from the equation they were doing their job as a D-line.

But I'm grasping at straws, perhaps.

Comments?

No doubt the best Dline and the deepest too....Carolina is a tight 2nd.

Ravens by far!!!!

DE- Trever Pryce
DT- Haloti Ngata
NT- Kelly Gregg
Pryce isn't that great..
Ngata has been good for a rookie but not great.

That defense has a lot of talent overall, I believe the line isn't the best in the league though.
