In this ranking on rankopedia, the best Dolphins ever are Marino, Csonka and Taylor. It's pretty tight for the following spots between Stephenson, Griese, Warfield and Thomas so your vote can make a difference.

It's hard not to vote for Marino being #1. But noone could singlehandedly take a game over like Csonka could. He was a beast. My next choice would have been Jake Scott, one of the toughest guys in football.:cooldude:

I put Zach Thomas ahead of Stephenson....leadership on defensive side of the ball, locker room presence, consistent high level of play..... in my opinion the greatest linebacker in dolphins history

Marino, Shula, Csonka, Taylor, Thomas.

And had he never gotten in all that trouble/retirement stuff, Ricky Williams would be on that list by the end of his career.

Csonka. An animal. A rogue elephant charging through the bush, a raging bull, a wounded hippo gone berserk. An irresistible force of nature; Hurricane Katrina in a football uniform. A one man barbarian horde raping, burning, looting and pillaging; what every Raider who ever played wishes he could have lived up to. I was a Jets fan then (lived in NY area). I hated the mere sight of him with a passion. He made me cry with impotent rage and frustration. I wasn't alone.

Larry Little. He was the best player on the Dolphins two best teams. Come one.....JT and ZT aren't in his league. Little was the man.

yeah, Larry Little, Dwight Stephenson,...of course Marino has to be there.
But c'mon, you have some of the old timers saying Jake Scott.C'mon...not even close. He may have been a sentimental favorite but certainly not one of the greatest Fins. On the other hand, some of the young timers may be inclined to state Zach T. ...again, c'mon. He's another sentimental favorite for his grittiness and his tough play but is not nearly one of the greatest Fins.

...Csonk gets honorable mention too. Man was an absolute beast.

I hate to disagree but I have to. Nobody could take a game over like Marino could....c'mon man. Marino would bring his team back when down by 3 TD's. In '86 or '87(??), the Fins were down to the Rams by 30 or so points. Marino told Shula that we are not running the ball until we have the lead. Sure enough, the Dolphins never ran the ball until they indeed had the lead. Marino called all pass plays even when Shula sent in a runnign play. They went on to win. And yes, they eventually DID run the ball after they had the lead. THAT is singlehandidly taking a game over.
