I know what you are all saying---83 was the best draft ever. Marino, clayton, Roby, Brown and M Charles. I would agree, along with the 68 and 69 drafts. But where does this years draft stand in comparison (inc supplemental draft choices). R Brown, Crowder, Roth, Daniels, Boston, M Wright and Vickerson. Sounds really special until you realise we lost Surtain and Ogunleye too. What do you guys think ?

i would say this thread is about 10 years too early to post....

Boston? We definitely didnt draft David Boston this year.

Boston? did you mean Alabi?

Either way, it's still way to early to tell, in 3-4 years you can rank it. I mean only 3 of the picks are starters the others are still considered projects.

Although Ronnie is looking to be very much worth that #2 overall already!

this could be a very good draft but too early to tell.

Do not forget Donnie Jones and Alex Holmes.

This draft has produced 4 starters and 2 that contribuotors:
Ronnie B - Starter
Roth - Part of rotation
Crowder -Starter
Daniels - Starter
Vickerson - on team
Alibi - on team
Wright - on team
Jones - Starter
Alex Holmes - contributor

donnie jones is not a rookie

Like everyone else, I agree it's too early to tell. The fact that many of our draft picks are seeing substantial playing time is good news. But remember how little depth this team had when they arrived. Brown would have started from Day 1, but the rest really would to be substitutes for at least a year on a good team.
Roth is probably a good indication of that, since we do have a good defensive line with decent depth. Crowder would probably have earned his way into a starting position by this point in the season.
With a decent seconday, Daniels should be a nickel back or a safety this year. I have been really impressed with his play, but the guy only really beat out Reggie Howard.
Wright belongs in next year's draft. And we'll be lucky to get some production out of Alabi and Vickerson.
But the benefit of throwing these guys to the wolves is that they are all a lot smarter and game wary, and should be solid starters next year.
