Best owner: Wayne Huizenga, Dolphins

Well I know a lot of people that would blame the past few years on Mr. Huizenga but his heart always was in the right place in every decision that he made.

He tried running this team like his businesses but it took him a while to learn that football is a completely different monster.

Thank goodness he hired BP though.

I know wayne is a businessman.. but when he cried after our one and only win last season.. you just knew he is a fan of our beloved team who cares. He may not be in the media. Like true class he handles everything behind closed doors. As every team should be run. even when getting fisted by Saban he took the high road when everyone wanted him to blab off the cuff his true feelings. He's finally done right and brought the right people here. He may not even be owner when we do win... but i know somewhere there will be tears of joy for having endured what we all have endured.

I like the Biggest Bust in Vernon Gholston and alot of people in here wanted to take him

I'll eat some crow for that, I wanted Gholston. Same sort of situation we had with Jason Allen; until the Jets have a need for Gholston to see the field other than for special teams, who knows how he's really going to turn out in the NFL?

Before Parcells, many wanted Wayne run out of town. Amazing. Anyhow, I'm glad he got the award.

agree 100%... those who think Wayne is/was a bad owner simply do not know what type of person Wayne is or what he tried to do for this team and therefore should not have the right to voice an opinion. They are quite ignorant.

Wayne's a businessman first ,whose abiding interest is to build up or at least protect equity by filling those orange seats, regaining national coverage games, developing new licensing and other revenue streams, and capturing new fans interests. As such, he did what he thought was the right thing with Saban, definitely overpaying him and now again with Parcells.

So I've gotta give him less credit for being a dedicated, win-at-all-costs Mark Cuban sort of passionate owner but instead give him his due as the detached owner of a business who'll do what he has to only when he must to protect his investment. (as evidenced by Wanny where we won just enough to keep everyone hopeful and engaged). Had we gone further into the playoffs or even continued to make them, there's no doubt in my mind that Wanny'd still be here making boneheaded decisions. However, between his implosion, Saban's treachery and Cam's incompetence, the franchise became a broken laughingstock.

I equate the hiring of, and mandate to Parcells not unlike the 1970s Mazda rotary engine fiasco which sullied the reputation of this brand so severely, that to successfully dig out, they had to then produce a vehicle that ended up being called the "Japanese BMW."

Given that, props to WH for not doing this half-azzed, like say, Bill Bidwell often did, or thinking he's smarter than he is and becomes an interference like a Jerry Jones or Old Man Al Davis.

Always loved Wayne as an owner and I am sorry to see him go. There is absolutely no doubt he loves this team and did the best that he could but he got screwed over by more than just Saban. It's a real shame that he won't be here when the Commissioner presents the 2010 season Lombardi trophy to the SUPER BOWL CHAMPION DOLPHINS!!!

Wayne sucks as an owner, look at what the Dolphins have done under his ownership.

No, he sucks as a coaching talent evaluator....

As an owner....he loves this team and tries to bring in people that know the game to make this team better. He made poor choices with Wannstedt, Saban, and Cameron, but he thought they had the ability to bring in the players needed to turn this team around.

He's a great owner that wants the best for his team and will pay whatever is necessary to get it. He just couldn't bring in the right FO personnel.
