So With the Re-signings of Carey and Crowder, and inking Wake and Wilson we have less holes to fill than I thought but I still think in the draft BP and Co. are going with a BPA approach. There really isn't a position on this team that Miami couldn't use help at except for QB and HB.....

FB- Could use an upgrade(Polite is money on short yardage runs but not the best run blocker
WR- No Explaination needed
TE- Could use an upgrade IMO(Fasano and Martin are solid but neither are pro bowl caliber)
C- Everybody is down on Sataele(I actually think he'll bounce back nicely though)
T- Just need depth as we have no backups
G- Need depth, possibly a starter
DE- Hopefully Langford and Merling pan out but no guarantee there
DT- We all know the deal here
OLB- Porter is old, and Wake is unproven, could also use better depth
ILB- If we continue to play a 3-4 we need a better ILB to play next to Crowder
CB- Allen is old, Goodman is old(if we re-sign him) and we have NO depth
S- This could be a non issue if we re-sign Bell but if not this is a huge need IMO

IDK we're not exactly set or done upgrading any position on this team I think except HB and QB so I could definately see this FO taking the best player on the board in each round of this years draft.

Still need a FS . . . Doubt Bell resigns now with the Wilson signing.

Still have needs a LB, FS, and cb....could easily be out first 3 picks.

Right now the only things that stand out is

CB and FS - We currently have ZERO Free Safeties on this team, we have one starting CB as a FA and the other in the last year of his deal . . . both are over 30. You also have Jason Allen, maybe the Trifecta has big plans for him . . . who knows, but we need to address this.

Things u want to upgrade but it's not critical: ILB, OLB, NT, WR, C

I think we address all 5 of these positions, but our Linebacker play was decent last year . . . and we have the same 4 guys this year . . . need more of a pass rush, which is why I could see us going OLB in the first day and upgrade Roth, who was servicable but not ideal. You wouldn't mind upgrading Ayodele, but he is very servicable also. NT u want to groom somebody and give Solia comp. Satele is a very servciable Center, I rather see him at LG to bolster the Guard corps and bring in a new big Center. WR we have young talent, just like to see a vet like Holt or Coles brought in.

Other positions that we could address:

TE is fine . . . Fasano/Martin is a nice combo . . . maybe we upgrade the third TE

FB is fine . . . I mean we could take a look at a better blocking FB, but Parcells uses the 2 TE sets . . . and Polite was very effective in short yardage. Would love for him to become a better blocker . . he just may.

QB is fine . . . I really want to keep all 3 guys again this year

RB is fine . . . I like all 3 guys

OT is fantastic for starters . . . but we need some depth real bad, expect a 2nd day pick on a OT

OG . . . I mean it depends what we do with Center . . . if we bring in Jason Brown or draft a Center, then we are fine with Satele, Smiley, Thomas and Murphy as the 4 Guards. Plus Alleman and Ndukwe both have a year starting under their belt, plus the OT we pick up probably can play some guard also.

DE . . . We are fine wtih the 6 guys we have.

SS . . . We are fine with Gibril and Culver

Despite the re-signing of Crowder, I still believe the Dolphins will go LB with the first pick. First, Crowder needs a quality starter and not a starter by default (ayodele) playing alongside him. Second, Porter sooner or later will need a replacement as he is getting up there in age. Lastly, Wake is unproven.

I agree with everything you said except you got the coach's name wrong...

Hopefully we will put ourselves in position to draft the highest valued player on the board instead of highest rated at a position of need come draft time.

lol I know the coach is Sparano . . . but everybody knows Parcells has his schemes and style all over this team.

This is Tony's team tho, but how he builds it he based on how Parcells/Ireland build it . . . Tony's job is to coach on Sundays.

Basically what I mean is I'd rather see Miami take the best overall player available with these picks rather than best available at a certain position. If our biggest need is CB but the best player available is clearly a ILB or Wr then I hope they take the ILB or WR

I think BPA is almost always the way to go, espeically when you have a lot of needs to fill.

Sure, you look at your most straining needs first, but if someone falls to you, and you think the is the best guy there, I say you take him and sort it out later.

(Barring extreme cases, such as I wouldn't draft a QB this year)
