I apologize if this has been posted, i looked 3 pages back and did not see it. I was a little disappointed to see Dan in last place on the poll so i figured I needed to bring this to your attention.

It actually was posted earlier, Marino was last then as well.

If you look at the voting....it is a regional vote....all the Cheeseheads voting for Favre in the Midwest....Texas and all the southern border states going for Aikman......everyone in Florida is in bed right now....biased vote I say.

Not to show any disrespect to Aikman because I consider the team he played on as the best team of the 90s, but I definitely dont think he was even close to the best QB. 3 of his 10 seasons in the 90s resulted in more interceptions thrown than touchdowns and he only threw more than 20 TDs once. I have respect for Troy Aikman as a winner much like Tom Brady, but I thought he was highly overrated. His supporting cast was superior and he had the luxury of dropping back behind one of the greatest o-lines ever constructed.

to be honest, Steve Young is the best of the 90's.

now if the poll was, "Who is the best QB from '85-'95?" that would be totally different story

My vote was for Favre and then Young with a close second.

I've always felt Aikman was overrated. He was the ultimate system QB in my mind. He did a great job guiding that team but he was never asked to carry the load himself, and when he was, he usually came up short.

I'm surprised Marino even made that list. I would have put both Kelly and Moon up there instead.

I wouldn't expect marino to win this poll. not with the way jimmy johnson ran the offense the latter half of that decade.

how was elway not on that list? Did I miss something?

I still think Marino is, Aikman on there is a joke.

marino deserved to be on the list. he had a 2 4,000 yard seasons and one missed 4,000 by 30 yds. subtracting the achilles year, only twice did he fail to reach 3,000 yd and only in hi last year had more INT's that TD's. everything above 3,000 was at least 3,400. the year after his surgery was his third best of his career. i dont have a comparison, but thats pretty damn good

EDIT: '84-'95 are simply amazing. im curious how other qb numbers would stack up in their best 11-year span...Favre is only 44 TDs behind

wow its a big split

Edit: if it was the best QB of the 80's marino probually would of won...

About Favre....I feel in my heart that the only reason the guy is still playing is to get that record!

The media has been so up his azz that they don't EVER mentioin how selfish the guy is! Favre IS a great QB...I don't doubt that for a second but this next paragraph will explain how I feel about the guy as a person...I think :)

The media seems to think it's the greatest thing in the world that Favre played in games right after his dad died AND that he kept playing during his wife's FIGHT FOR HER LIFE!. You know, I can kinda understand playing after his father died... kinda.... but to play, especially the 1st week she was in the hospital, is one of the most selfish things I've ever heard of! and WHY did he do all this? It wasn't because his wife was out of the woods or his dedication to the game.....I was so that he could keep his "consectutive games played" record in tact.

OK, I'm done ranting :D

Ive never been a big Brett Favre fan but i dont get that impression from him at all. How about love for the game and competitive nature? Fact is, if Jimmy didnt run Dan out of town its very likely he would have stayed (and started) a couple more years. Favre is the best QB on their roster and he gives them the best shot at winning so I definitely dont view that as selfish.

Neither you or I are in any position to have a respectable opinion on that matter. For all we know it could have been a family decision for him to play in those situations.

I think mine was a respectable opinion. It's very possible that it was a family decision for him to play while his wife was in the hospital...I just find that very insensitive and not where a husbands responsiblities should lie, once again...my opinion. Of course, he likely has a different family than I have (I think that's a given since I've never see him at our family reunions). My father was an absent-tee father and I swore that I'd never treat my wife and kids the way he treated us. And that's exactly what I've done with my life.....

....If his family runs great, then that's fine. I'm not here to try and change the way Favre treats his wife and kids...I'd never presume to do such a thing This is only my opinion but whenever I hear what a great "man" he is I just can't get around the fact that his wife stuck with him through his painkiller addiction, as well as his admitted abuse of alcohol, and yet he can't miss one game to be with his wife in the hospital. I guess it works for them though.

There I went and ranted again :) All I was saying is that I don't feel the man deserves to be put on a pedistal for everything he does, which is exactly what the media does. Like I said in my previous post, he's a great QB who's likely to make the HOF and someone I enjoy watching play because he reminds me of Marino in that he's a competitor and loves to play...maybe he just loves it too much. Perhaps I came off a more harsh than I intended in my previous post, sorry if I did but that's my opinion and I'm stickn' to it. :D
