Just missed the cut

Bobby McCain, Dolphins:
McCain didn’t play a lot in the slot last season, but he allowed just two catches on eight targets on 117 slot snaps, and he'll get more reps in 2016. He’s an ascending player to watch.

Thought this was a nice mention especially for a rookie corner. If not for that concussion that ruined his 2nd half of the season I think he probably would have nailed the starting job down with a strong finish.

Love that kid's potential. I think secondary might the one of Miami's strongest position.

I think the D-Line has those honors with the WR group a close second but I like your optimism. If McCain and Lippett take next steps and Howard plays to his draft status, we'll have some good young talent at corner. But, we'll need Maxwell to regain his Seattle glory if we have a chance at being in the to half of the league. An agressive d-line will go a long way to helping this unproven DB unit.

I am not sure about strongest, but definitely an x factor. Young pups all around, mixed with some vets in Jones and Max. Would love to see them fly around if that DLine plays to its potential

There is definite potential there, and I love how the kid also has a good nose for the ball. As time goes on, and he gets more comfortable, he could be a great play-maker to those that challenge him.

Just needs to get stronger really. He has the measurables and the ball skills.

To be clear, Maxwell was actually very solid after he adjusted to the Eagles scheme after the first few weeks. The problem, though, is he is being paid like an very good #1 CB and he's only a very good #2 CB.

guys, it starts up front on both sides. the young, raw talent is there behind both lines. Miami has quietly built an offense that is geared toward an offensive genius like Gase. But to reap the benefits of that offense, we have to block. Tunsil falling to us has quieted the doubts of the depth and quality of the line that has casted a shadow for years here. It also pushes Albert.

The blueprint for Miami on defense is clear. They invested a high pick on Phillips and both him and Suh are relied upon to be stout against the run, like Bowens and Gardner were. Combine that with a rotation at DE to put pressure on the qb, that is where we can see the potential of the youth at LB and the secondary, specifically Alonso and Howard.

Miami has put together a better talented team, but nothing will sniff success unless the building blocks of this team play sound, fundamental football. The challenge is on Pouncey, James, Albert, Tunsil, Bushrod, Suh, Phillips, Williams and Wake.

You just have to question the last coaching staff and some of their decisions.

They played both McCains on the outside much more than they should have. This coaching staff cut Brice McCain well before free agency, because they know they have their nickel CB already on this team for the next 3 years. That's what a smart staff does . . . and it's a reason you probably won't see Leon Hall unless the rook/Lippet struggle into camp and they get desperate to get a vet on the opposite side of Maxwell.

they didn't play in cutting McCain. They knew off the bat he was garbage

Meh he was one of the most average corners in the league last year. Just too small to play on the outside
