Here's mine:

Best Case Scenario:

1. San Fran goes for Aaron Rodgers and actually signs him a couple of days before the draft. This puts us in a position to have a shot at a QB, the top WR or RB, and more importantly, gives us more power in trade down scenarios. Plus, it gives the teams time to negotiate a trade.

2. Surtain to KC for a 2nd. Frees cap space, gives us a 2nd round pick if we can't trade down or even if we do trade down. We need draft picks. We need to hord them. More the better.

Worst Case Scenario:
1. San Fran trades down to someone and that team selects Braylon Edwards at WR. This leaves us with little trade ammunition, b/c there are still the two QB's on the board, plus the 3 RB's, and no one is going to trade up to #2 to get Mike Williams or one of the top defenders (LB or CB). It just won't happen.

2. We can't trade Surtain to anyone and have only the #2 pick and the 3rd rounder from Chicago. Saban will be sitting on his hands for 5 hours on Saturday afternoon. Not a happy or pretty scene!

- as an aside - how would you like to be Rick Spielman in that draft room with Saban as our 2nd round pick goes off the board, especially if we can't trade down or get any other picks from a Surtain trade??? Yikes. RS might have to fake sick or something. Or, he may be on the phone inquiring about job openings. Maybe the Bills or Jets will hire him as a trade negotiator? :roflmao:

Call me a pessimist, but I think this 2nd scenario is the much more likely one for us. Of course, if it doesn't turn out that way- GREAT! :D

Comments?

I think Rodgers goes to San Fran... we can't trade down... and trade Surtain for an '06 2nd.

Saban flirts with the idea of drafting Smith but goes with Brown...

I agree with this. Edwards going first takes away a lot of draft option for us.

A very possible scenario, my hope is that Surtain will be traded on draft day in a deal that includes him and the #2 over all pick for multiple draft picks ... including two first rounders, a 2nd & a 4th. I would be content with that trade even if one of the 1st round picks is from the '06 draft. Oh, and I dont trade down past the # 8-12 area unless a team from below that area throws in a ton of picks ...

I tell ya, the more I hear, the more I don't think we stay at 2.

Have you been reading my posts or is that great minds think alike.

I see it much differently.

My worst case scenario goes like this: We stay at #2 and grab Caddy. Is that bad, hell nah, but we only get one immediate impact player, but he will be a hell-of-a-puch impact playa.

Best: All the specualting that 4-15 has done, is great news for us. Even if SF takes/trade away the pick for Braylon. If anything, it becomes a bigger feeding frenzy.

We trade down to #4 (CHI), so they can get their boy Cedric, and we pick up a 2nd, #39. Then we trade #4 away to MINN, so they can grab Mike Williams. We pick up #7, #18, and #120. We then trade away #7 to Detroit so they can grab Antrel Rolle, and we pick up their 1st and 2nd, #10 and #41. We either select Alex Barron, or if Saban is feeling lucky, we make a move with SD or preferably Dallas for their two firsts, and a third if SD or a fourth if Dallas. Parcells hardly ever trades up, but to get Mark Clayton, I bet he would. So, in the best case scenario, I will go with Dallas, and we get #11, #20, and #109.

Then, at #11 we get Alex Barron, no more passes, but we still got #18 and #20 to play with in the first round. #18, Im taking Charlie Frye. It might be a stretch, but I dont think so. From 12th to 18th, none of the teams need a QB. I think it is very feasible. Then at #20, Im looking at david pollack, Marlin Jackson, Earnest Shazor, channing Crowder.

I always look at the best, not need. You may not agree, but these are the franchise players in my opinion. I like their skills, and think these are all immediate impact playa's.

This is what I would like to see happen, but it depends if we have a draft of 03, or an 04. It can go either way. Im hoping more like and 04. NO STUPID MOVES by dumb GM's, and we are set!

Oops, I made that sound like our GM, I was meaning the rest of the league, like when sullivan and I forget the other bust at Tackle jumped way up into the top 5 out of left field in 03. I think Saban will do us right.

Nothing specific Surf mate, I just know this:

Scott Linehan doesn't like a ball control runner. Nick doesn't like a sole back taking charge. I know Ronnie Brown can block catch and run and I know Nick likes him, but I dunno.....plus this is a TB heavy draft - Brown, Arrington, Fason, Benson, Williams, Barber III, Morency, Moats, Gore, Shelton, Alex Haynes, Houston, Harris, etc etc.

You have the 2 pick in a down draft year. But the 10-40 region is as good as I can remember. Teams will come calling......Edwards is a hot name for teams, so might one of the QB's be, etc.

I just think with no 2 and a stacked pile at TB, we could trade down and get a couple of picks in R1 or a later pick in 1, a 2 and a 1 next year and get a Stroud or a Merriman or a Williamson and still get a Barber or a Fason etc.

I dunno. Just don't see it as cut and dried that it's Ronnie Brown much as I like him. I even think that if we do take a back there that it might be Caddy and not Brown.

Gee....that will happen.

Funny if it did, shows your brillance. But then you never were one to say how you think it will pan out KY. Just a bunch of harping that somebody is stupid, but no guts to get your own opinion, and post it.

Same old KY, nothing ever changes for you does it?

Im going to go with Fish and KY and say theres no way in hell this happens. We dont trade down 4 times in the first round. Dont get me wrong, I would LOVE for that to happen, but its way far fetched.
