Since there is little new news and now we are talking about Top 10 lists to pass the time...

What are your Top 5 Best & Worst Dolphins memories?
Mine are:
BEST:
  1. Super Bowl VII
  2. Super Bowl VIII
  3. Miami defeating Chicago on MNF 1985
  4. Last year's comeback on the Buffalo Bills
  5. (tie) Defeating NY Jets "Clock Play" & Beating Denver on ESPN Sunday Night 24-22 10/13/2002
WORST:

  1. Defeat to SF & Joe Montana in Super Bowl XIX
  2. Losing to NYJ on MNF "MN Miracle" 10/23/2000
  3. Losing to SD in AFC Championship game after leading at halftime 93 season
  4. Losing ot Buffalo Bills in the 1990 AFC divisino Playoff game when we made a comeback only to lose
  5. Super Boule VI defeat to Dallas

For me:

BEST - last year at home vs. Bills (my 1st Miami home game) ... WOW!!!

WORST - the Monday night meltdown vs. the slimy green *******s ... I still think that was fixed.

The worst moment is a more current one for me. It was in 2002 when the Dolphins had to win one of two games to win the division and they lost both of them(Vikings and Pats). In the game against the Pats we had an 11 point lead with like 4 minutes left and everything just manage to go bad. They won the game in OT and the Jets won the division by beating the packers.

Jets 9-7
Miami 9-7
New England 9-7
Buffalo 6-10

Three way tie in the AFC East, boy that one still hurts just thinking about it.

The best moment i would have to say was watching us comeback from a 21-3 lead in the 4th quarter against the Buffalo Bills. I was at a Sportsbar in Tallahassee called BW3s and when Chambers caught the game winning catch the whole bar errupted. I procedded to get wasted after that and it seriously seemed like one of best moments in my life.

Best for me obviously are our two SB wins, next would be the MNF victory against the undefeated Bears, the clock play ranks up there too.

Worst for me would be the `94 playoff loss to SD, the Monday Night meltdown against the Jets is up there also...but, imo the 62-7 defeat to Jacksonville that ended Marinos career tops any other game in Dolphins history.

Good point...that one was SO PAINFUL I had blanked it out of my memory.
:boohoo:

Worst:

1. Jets MNF comeback
2. 2002 season ending...only needed 1 of 2 and had the Pats beat in the final game

Best:

1. Jets passing on QB Dan Marino in the draft
2. Nov 25, 1993...Leon Lett!

I'll limit it just to games I have watched (so not including any player signings, coaching changes, etc.).

Top Five Best (no particular order, and it's hard to pick just 5):

1) Play-off win over Flutie Flakes and the Bills after the 1998 season (it was my freshman year of college, and there was an obnoxious Bills fan on my floor). 24-17

2) Sunday night win over Denver in 2002. 24-22

3) Monday night win over New England in 2004. 29-28

4) Play-off win over Seattle after the 1999 season (I was pretty sure that would be Marino's last win, as I just didn't see Miami winning at Jacksonville the next week. However, I thought they would at least show up). 20-17

5) The Clock Play win over the Jets in 1994. 28-24

Top Five Worst (also in no particular order):

1) Play-off loss to San Diego after the 1994 season. 22-24

2) Loss to New England to end the 2002 season. 24-27

3) The Midnight Miracle loss to the Jets on Monday Night in 2000. 37-40

4) The play-off loss to Jacksonville after the 1999 season. 7-62

5) Loss to New England to end the 1997 regular season. 12-14 (I doubt this one will show up on many lists, so here's my reasoning: It was one of those division rivalry games in the old 3-division, 3-wild card play-off format where the winner would win the division and get the 3 seed, and the loser would get the 6 seed. The Patriots had won the earlier game in New England 27-24 in a game where Marino threw 2 pick-6's, one of them being when the Dolphins were about to score. So take away that one and the Dolphins win. Anyway, the Dolphins had a touchdown negated in this game on a terrible call, a fumble recovery or interception where our guy was ruled down, when he wasn't really down. Late in the game Miami was down 14-6, and scored a TD but missed the 2-point conversion. They got the ball back in great field position and seemed destined to drive for the game-winning score, but suddenly the O-line forgot how to block and Marino got sacked on three straight plays. On fourth down he was intercepted and the game was over. The Dolphins went on to lose in New England the next week. Had Miami won this game, however, they would have won the division, probably would have beaten New England in the play-offs, and been in the second round.)

I would have to agree completely. Marino is the best quarterback in NFL history, to go out losing 62-7 is terrible. I watched that game, and the only good thing about it is that he finally threw a touch down pass to prevent the shutout.

25 other teams passed on MArino, too.

But, if a Jets draft is your favorite Dolphins moment...:shakeno:

I can't put the Bills game last year on the best list. It was great, but top 5? I'm more tempted to put the 2002 Denver game on there, it was just an amazing game, but the Clock Play comes before that one in my book...

On the worst moments, I'd have to nominate the snowplow...

Worst

Shula "retiring" to make room for JJ
Marino rupturing his achilles against Cleveland
Monday night miracle
Playoff loss against Jags
Dave Wanstedt becoming head coach

Best
SB win to cap undefeated season
Dave Wannstedt quitting
Clock play
Shootout w/patriots Marinos first game back from achilles

The score was actually SD 22, Miami 21. I was at that game, and it was a long drive back up to Ventura from San Diego...I still can`t believe Stoyo missed that kick!

Best:

1. Winning SB VII and SB VIII
2. Marino's fake spike game versus the Jets.
3. Marino's first game back from his achilles injury.
4. Dolphin's beating the Bears on MNF to ruin their unbeaten season.
5. Seeing Mare beating the Denver Broncos at Invesco Field (2002).
6. Beating the Bills last year with an incredible comeback.

Worst:

1. Losing the SB to the Cowboys, the Redskins, and 49ers.
2. Losing to the Raiders in the 1974 playoffs on a lucky Stabler pass. :boohoo:
3. Losing in OT to the San Diego Chargers (best game I ever saw).
4. Losing to the Jaguars in Dan's last game.
5. Hearing about Ricky quitting on us before training camp.

How long did you have to troll to wait for this moment.:shakeno:

Only item I would change would be the loss to San Diego in '81 wildcard in the Orange Bowl. Strock was a monster in that game. Too bad the refs allowed jumping off the backs of teammates to block field goals in that game. Hook and lateral still the best "gadget" play of all time.

You know our beloved dan went for the home run down the sidelines on third down instead of picking up a few more yards, oh wait we did not know how to run the ball. That's why.
