My problem with putting so much emphasis (and a 2nd round pick) into Pat White running the Wildcat offense is there is no one to really step in behind him if he gets hurt. If the Fins are going to invest this much time and effort to the Wildcat they better find a backup other than Ronnie Brown.

Baltimore exposed how ineffective this offense is if there is not a threat to pass the ball. I understand the Fins had some big pass plays last year from the Wildcat but unless the passing threat comes from the guy actually handling the snap I think teams will be able to stop this offense. Maybe Seattle would trade us Senca Wallace for Jason Allen?

Also, I wonder if Jayson Foster was picked up out of Georgia Southern last year to see if he would work in this offense? I also bet Armanti Edwards out of App State gets drafted by a team next year for their version of the offense. For those who have not seen this kid play check him out on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnvz9z-SD0o

...or ask Jake Long and Chad Henne (I'm sure they remember him!)

If the wildcat really takes off this yr....Tebow really could be a high first rounder.

I'm sure they would love to get Tebow but I would hate to use yet another top pick on a QB. He could be better than White in this offense however.

I would look for New England to make a run at him as they are loaded and could afford the risk (not to mention all the draft picks they have in the first two rounds!)

it's a part of our offense....not our whole offense.

Ronnie can run it, Ricky has run it...and now we have Pat White.

If Pat White gets injured, there are just going to be certain plays we don't run. If Ronnie goes down, we have a lot bigger problems than who will contribute on wild cat plays.

This isn't going to be 50% of our offense.

yet again, another negative thread about P. White. Pessimism is wasteful, why don't you find something to be positive about.

Well Seattle won't trade Wallace for Allen as they just signed Lucas back to the team.. and we'll just have to go with Brown as backup...

didn't we sign Jason Foster before? then we released him and he signed with the Pats? i think i read somewhere that he actually helped the Pats prepare for the wildcat?

What did I say negative about Pat White? I think the wildcat and Pat White make the Fins a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch regardless of how many games they win. But if you are going to make this a major part of your offense you can't just have one guy who is capable of running it.

Peyton Manning has a backup and he is the best in the league. Ronnie Brown cannot be the guy b/c he is not a threat to throw the football!
