One bite, you know the rules. This is not a question of positional value, or salary, or future potential. In this case I probably should say who was better at their job in 2024.

Both have first names that start with T. Both are considered very good at their jobs. Both get hurt.

Who was better?

I have to go with Terron Armstead. Armstead played 15 games last year (although I do think in 1 or 2 of those games he was out quickly but at least he gave it a shot). Tua played 11 games (1 of which I think he knocked himself out of), and missed the last 2 games of the season. Armstead graded out 89.4 by PFF, ranking him 3rd out of 141 tackles. 8th best in pass blocking, 4th best in run blocking. Not one dimensional, solid all around. Tua graded out 70.2 by PFF, ranking him 39th of 75 QBs, and Tua is also somewhat one-dimensional. How there are 75 QBs is beyond me, and how they view Tua as somewhat less than average is also beyond me. Having said all of that, even if PFF is off somewhat, there is a giant spread between the two, and it is not inconsistent with my eyeballs at least.

I am rolling with Terron. He is the better football player on the field of play. Armstead was borderline elite when he was out there, Tua was not. They both get hurt all the time.

Close to even. Both very productive when healthy, but both have had injury issues. Armstead shows signs of wear and tear at times due to his age. So Tua has an edge there. But Armstead also has a decade of experience and knows all the tricks of the trade and that gives him the advantage over Tua at times too. My guess is the national media and some casual fans would say Armstead is a higher regarded tackle than Tua is regarded as a qb.

yup. although i would say at this point experience is not the issue. tua has more than enough experience. armstead was pretty good from the get go in his career, without having had much experience. i am not much of a believer in the notion that you need 3 years to figure out how good a draft was, which kind of means you need 3 years to figure out if a player is good (tua is well past that now). look, there are certainly late bloomers, but more often than not i believe puppies either bite, or they don't. i think w a lot of players you kind of know right away. it shows up in the first training camp, and then at some point during the first year if they have it or not. this is also my worry about pat paul. the one offset with him is he was a known developmental player, but after he came in at the end of year 1, with all that time, he was still absolutely terrible:

For what it’s worth, Paul’s standing on Pro Football Focus doesn’t help. The service rated Paul 78th out of 81 offensive tackles in 2024. He received a grade of 55.8 for pass protection and 41.0 for run blocking. If those numbers sound minuscule even if you’re unfamiliar with PFF’s grading system, it’s because they are. Think about how you’d feel if you saw them on your child’s next report card.

Look deeper, though. For the first half of the season, Paul’s grades hovered from the mid-50s to 60s. But when Paul was pressed into duty the final 1½ weeks of the season, he was hit with his two lowest game grades: a 47.5 against the Browns and a 42.1 vs. the New York Jets. Of course, it didn’t help that the Browns have Myles Garrett and the Jets Quinnen Williams. Talk about a welcome to the NFL.

December also gave Paul an opportunity to start at Houston, one of his three starts (all losses). Combined, Paul received a 28.5 for run blocking against that rugged Texans front; a 26.6 for pass protection in the Cleveland game, allowing a sack and three pressures; and a 39.6 vs. the Jets in which he allowed zero sacks and four pressures.

not sure at his current age, but Armstead was a top 3 to 5 Left Tackle in the league in his prime (at times maybe higher).

Tua has yet to reach his prime, and is not in the top 3 to 5 at his position.

Who chokes during every game when we play good teams?

Glass Tua does, he's the only correct answer, anyone saying otherwise is trolling.

So he wasn’t terrific at Buffalo last year?

It’s a yes or no question.

11-3, that means 11-2 without your vote. You need to bring out the battle horn to get the Tua folks to start rigging the poll, failing that you can always resort to a chinese bot farm :). As far as I am concerned, 11-2 in Armstead's favor is the final answer, anything else that happens from here is voter fraud :)

😆 one good game, where we lost by the way, does not make any point or hide all of his flaws.

The team lost, ya, but Tua was the reason we had a shot. Just like he is most games.

He played a pretty good game at Green Bay on Thanksgiving, when most of the team didn’t show up.

He is 2-1 vs Lamar Jackson but you only remember the final score of the loss and pretend Tua didn’t take us up and down the field early in that game, but ya Tua let them score 4 straight TDS and he dropped the easiest TD pass of his life.

He played pretty good in the SNF at Philly in 2023 as well, which was tough to do with the massive refereeing bias as well as Hill dropping ANOTHER easy as TD.

Tua also played pretty well in the last 3 quarters against the Chiefs in Germany. If not for Hill’s fumble, that game easily could’ve went our way.

He’s had his issues here and there but that’s the nature of pro football. He’s a really good QB and an exceptional passer.

Typing that all up I realize you must really hate Tyreek Hill.

Did you watch this game? Tua was not effective at all until the Packers had the game in the bag and they were in coast mode.

It was 24 to 3 at halftime dude.

without arguing over whether or not tua is elite, very good, good, average, or not good, the poll question was who was a better football player last year. apparently you think tua was a better QB last year than TA was a left tackle. TA played more games, and graded out substantially better than tua did as well. so how do you justify your thinking that tua was a better football player than TA last year? again, positional importance or salary does not matter w/regard to this question. it was simply who was better at their job last year.

Ya if you ignore things like the fact that Malik Washington fumbled the first punt of the game after the defense stopped them. They were already in the red zone. The team was flat but Tua wasn’t.

Just like the week 2 game against Buffalo, do you actually blame Tua for that? A perfectly throw ball bounces off Grant Duboise’s shoulder pad, would you have the nerve to put that on Tua? Or when Robbie Anderson (or Chase Claypool in 2023) are half assing a route and an INT is thrown, you want to put that on Tua?

Or in 2023 against Buffalo when we lost 48-20, when Stefan Diggs scored 3 TDs on Kader Kohou on what felt like 3 consecutive plays.

Tua is good enough to beat anybody but he needs help, and obviously needs to stay healthy.

Ya I know I’m ignoring the poll altogether as it just doesn’t interest me as a question.

You’re splitting pubes.
