This is Hypothetical people.....if Ricky does come Back and serve his 4 game suspension, do you think our current running backs can break the 1972 Dolphins record of having 2 running backs on the same team run for over 100 yards in the same game?? This happened three times in 1972. For example: in Novemeber when we play the Pats do you think Ronnie and Ricky can each run 100 yards??? Do you think they can even repeat a double hundred yard performance?? Keep in mind that the 1972 team had probably one of the best, if not the best, TRIO of running backs (Csonka,Kick, and Mercury Morris) in the NFL of all time!

Get back to me on that after the season is over. Like mario88vega said, until we win a SB with them, the 1972 are will always be better.

There is always speculation and what ifs...but I doubt Ricky would be one of two runners are on the Phins going for over 100 yards a game.

Remember, im not asking if our current trio is better.....im asking if you think we can have a double 100 yard performance in the same game ?!?!?!?!?

maybe we should make sure Ricky is at least in the US and that Ronnie has taken an NFL snap or two before dreaming of double 100s.

Even if your hypothetical situation pans out and both are on our roster, I doubt we would see such a performance against the Pat's Defense. Maybe the following week against Cleveland.

Csonka, Kiick and Morris - are untouchable (for now). Power, finesse and speed. Defenses would bunch up to stop Csonka and Mercury would sweep around end for a 50-yard touchdown. Defenses would stack the line and Griese would throw to Kiick out of the backfield. Defenses would try EVERYTHING and couldn't stop Csonka. Those were the days!

The Oline in 1972 was a helluva lot better than the Oline we currently have. Csonka, Morris and Kiick will always be heroes in my book, but they ran behind one of the best group of linemen to ever play.

Exactly.... It starts with the line. Besides, Brown hasn't gained his first yard in the NFL yet.

I don't know, maybe we got a lot of greats RB and if Ricky back, sad but he runs great but we need run like no ever seen, 'cause the 72 was so balanced, Zonk ran for 1117 yards and 6 TD, Morris 1000 and 12 TD, and the back up Kiick 521 and 5 TD, so 2 players with more than 1000 yards and the 3th more than 500 wow, and the average, Zonk 5.2 & Morris 5.3, amazing, and 2 SB.

and look air attack, well it's better show U the link

if we can do that again and more, nobody can't beat our team

I believe in Brown but the 1972 team was PERFECT, even the D who nobody knew before of the 1972.

one game 2 players with 100yards so tough. We need put the air attack first or will happend with the last year of Ricky, everybody knows our attack 'cause the air was sucks, and we ran great the year before. if we won't pass good, forget 'bout the run and no way of 2players with 100yards, no way.

We'll thats a tall order...and yes, we;ll have to wait and see, but Linehans offense is not geared the way Shula's offense was then...Griese threw maybe 10-14 times a game. But to compare the backs...Czonka is better than any one of our current backs. RW is better than Morris and Kick. Brown is more of the style of Kick, but of course bigger and faster. It's tough to compare athletes of different eras...any of the backs today are better athletes, but that was a special combination of speed, moves and power we had back then...not to mention IMO, one of the best OL is the history of the game...There will be no comparisons to the 72 fins unless this years' OL improves though...

That is the real difference and the reason I doubt that we will have as good a season as you are suggesting...the OL just doesn't compare...

I saw that piece on NFL total access, great days, also bygone days, in Lineham system I don't see us running that much. In those days, Miami only threw the ball maybe 12-15 times a game. In today's football, even at 50-50 R\P..you won't get two back at a 100, unless one runs for 85-99 yards on one play.

Good Post larry. Ya know...I get the impression that people do not understand the difference between the backs they are trying to compare. The 72 team was about total dominance. Thats time of possession and total offense and like wise on the D. There were so many 70 & 80 yard drives with just enough mix of passes designed to run out the clock. Having RW lead the league in rushing meant nothing because he wasn't used to burn the clock. He scored to fast. The 72 team just lined up and got after them with intent of getting the lead and running out the clock. They were brutal.

well if any team haven't a average OL the offense sucks, but the last year our OL was horrible and now I don't know 'cause we don't got a lot of modifications I hope a better year. but the most important in the offense it's OL, every QB can throw good with time, no like the others but no bad, and RB need find the hole. obvius if we got a good players makes big plays but conditioning by the OL
