It appears that things may not go at all like Ricky expected in court. It appears now that even if he were to file for bankruptcy in an attempt to dodge money owed to the Dolphins, they would still be listed as one of his creditors. The Dolphins may be allowed to seize property owned by Williams in order to recoup the money owed.

Well, I'm sure when the room was thick with smoke, leaving seemed like a good idea. I wonder if he's sober enough right now to realize how screwed he is.:D

as much as this is turning out to be one of those "you reap what you soe" stories I can't help but feel a little pitty. I mean the guy is throwing away his life. Most people work their whole lives to get a sliver of what this guy has had handed to him.

sigh....

Below is a portion of the Herald article by Mr. Cole that mentions possible bankruptcy.........

If the Dolphins win, they can use the judgment to go to court against Williams for the money, including possible seizure of his assets if he does not agree to repay the money. Williams has said he will file for bankruptcy if he loses the case, but most of his assets would still be included in the case, and the Dolphins would be one of his creditors.

The Dolphins might also receive salary-cap credit, although that is a long way from being decided.

Said Berthelsen: ``The best result for all of this would be for Ricky Williams to come back and play, but that's not the state of situation, so we have to argue about contract language.''

Guys you can't post full articles here without getting Finheaven into loads of trouble. How often does that need to be said? Stop being lazy and take 2 minutes to sign up.

Sorry...I'm still relatively new to Finheaven and didn't realize this. So, apparently it will need to be said from time to time. It's an easy fix though. Give me a sec.

I, like everybody else was critical of RW when he bolted. But did he know something we didin't? Did he get a glimpse of perhaps one of the worst lines ever assembled, and decided he would rather walk when he was 40, then play for the lame DW and this line?

Ya know, I don't really care if he was friggin Nostradomus.......the way the guy left is what chaps my butt. He could have left at any time. He knew how things were shaping up on the line yet he waited that long to retire? The manner in which he left screwed this team. If he had made his choice a bit sooner, we could have made a play for other players that could have helped this team but instead he waited until FA after FA was signed leaving us with little or no options. THAT is why I, like many Dolphin fans, am upset......not at the fact that he left but the MANNER and TIMING in which he left.
