Big misses last 2 drafts

honestly our day 2 picks and 2nd and 3rd rounders have been so poor and disheartening the last few years that i don't even care to spend time doing a bunch of evals on players anymore...i know we are gonna end up taking some trash anyways

all it does is ruin my draft weekend...

Passing on TY Hilton was indefensible. He played right here in our backyard. Phenomenal athlete, good character guy, intelligent. Didn't like the medical... as usual, the Dolphins doctors **** it up.

I'd love to pick the players from the 2014 draft in Oct, 2014. I think they'll always be hits and misses. We have talent but don't know how to use it, period.

and here's a nugget i know people don't want to hear...if dion jordan doesn't develop his rush arsenal that picks never gonna validate a trade up into the top 5 either...right now he is so one dimensional as a rusher...

i would work him to death on a redirect back inside move this offseason and work on how quick he gets off the ball...

You do realize that just because those players succeeded at their position with their current team, doesn't mean they would be successful with another team in a different scheme.

You put Peyton manning on a different team his rookie year in a different scheme and he could have ended up more Ryan leaf than Peyton manning. Same for Brady. Same for pretty much everyone.

All I can do is laugh at these types of posts. how about the 30 other teams who passed on these players? All their GMs need to be fired too?

It's easy to sit back and read back a draft order and say we should have done this or this. How about giving up very little to go up and get Dion Jordan? Most drafts a move from 12 to 3 would have cost much more than just an additional 2nd, Ireland went in for the kill and got the BPA.

If we made some good playcalling towards the end of the Ravens and Bills game and didn't have those BS calls against the Pats we will be sitting at 6-1 and we will not be having this discussion.

But we didn't win those games and so we are having this very necessary discussion. And the fact of the matter is that Jeff Ireland is incredibly dismal when it comes to rounds two and three of the draft. Instead of looking at everything with rose colored glasses try looking at the situation through the prism of reality. Once you view things from that point of view it doesn't take long to understand what the real problem with this franchise for the last five years has been.

Yes, a "BPA" who can't even get on the field. Brilliant thinking.

How about the GM from the Colts? People praise him yet he stupidly traded a 1st for Trent Richardson lol. He needs to be run out of town. My point was there are many GM that draft and make mistakes that are still in the league. It is not always drafting great players if you don't have the right staff to coach them they will fail. How many sure picks have failed in the past. Cam Newton had bust all over him according to most so called "Experts" but the Panthers coached to his strengths

Egnew had all the athleticism and showed a lot of promise. According to reports that was a Philbin pick.
Johnathan Martin was a safe pick according to most. He was one of the higher rated LT and projected by some boards to go in the late 1st. We needed O-line help bad so Ireland drafted the best LT at the time with a 2nd. People were calling for Ertz or Eiffert , even Fleener which tbh I prefer Clay and Keller over them. But because Eiffert has not had a season like most expected or similar to Gronk,Graham no one makes a big deal about it. I read most topics everyone wanted Eiffert with our 1st round pick.

Trent Richardson was acquired for a playoff run. When they need that 2nd and 2, they will run the ball. Ireland would prefer a go go pass from a horrendous oline's blocking.

Ireland is only interested in money, not winning football. He has never built a winner or been a winner in sports himself. A total fraud.
IMHO...he is carpet bagger.

As I said, I did not choose the players. All I did was choose the highest rated player on nfl.com, of which the grading was done draft day, at a position of need.

All I'm saying is, this is just a simple way of showing who we could have drafted without paying a guy millions to get it wrong

It is very easy to say "He should of drafted this player over that player" after the success they had after being picked. It is not as easy to draft players. I remember perfectly fine most of Finheaven wanted Matt Barkley if he declared. So.... how is that working for you guys? Come on now I will not be playing this game. I bet if we look at other GM around the league or other team forums they will be saying the same thing. I bet KC and Jacksonville are saying " We should of drafted Jordan or blah, blah, over the Tackle"

I have not chosen these players. All I done was identify the needs and then choose the highest graded player on nfl.com. I think sometimes Ireland tries to outsmart himself.

That was the most preposterous combination of drivel I have ever read
