Dolfans I keep hearing Peyton Manning is going to become a Dolphin, and don't be surprised if Reggie Wayne joins him.

I have been saying over and over that the idea of signing Manning scares the crap out of me. There is a chance he may never be anywhere close to what he was before his surgeries. I am backing off my statement that he might never take another snap, because I think he will take a snap next season. He might not be 100% healthy, but I don't think anyone is going to keep him off the field. Though we have to remember that Daunte Culpepper also played in 2006 but we saw what the results are when he wasn't completely healthy.

If Manning is 100% healthy and plays like he did before the surgeries, absolutely no question he should be the #1 target. The idea of a healthy Peyton Manning throwing passes to Brandon Marshall and Reggie Wayne and handing off to Reggie Bush is beyond exciting.

If Manning is not healthy, or the Colts do not release him, then I think they should go the Matt Flynn route. Only though if he is not franchised.

If we keep bringing in oldies, I don't think we will accelerate like New Orleans did, or Green Bay did. Esp. GB. We need fresh and explosive. I too like Manning's football smarts and his desire to win. R. Wayne, I just dont know. I don't want this to be Indy South, but I do like the sound of Green Bay South, lol.

Well, if Manning did come, you can still bet a QB would be taken to groom.

I think it's different with Culpepper, Culpepper had A lot of power and that helped him when he played for the Vikings. When he hurt his knee it effected his ability to throw the long ball consistently and he was never a very accurate paser. If Manning's injury heals then we will see the same Manning in Indianapolis, Even if he's not all the way healed he'll still be a huge threat with his knowledge of the game. At the very worst I see Peyton as A Chad Pennington to us.

A neck injury to a QB is like a Achilles injury to a RB.We need to be very careful in evaluating his progress because if hes not even close to 100% i dont want him.

Flynn is the safest option imo.

If we sign Peyton Manning I may faint. To go from Chad Henne to Manning...damn.

please give up on manning people. i love him, he's one of the greatest qb's of this generation (i'd say the best light years ahead of brady biatch from an intellectual standpoint alone). the man is one dirty bart scott hit away from never walking again. even if he does come back he's going to be so petrified of getting hit his decisions will be altered dramatically. matt moore is fearless and with a full season of workouts and training camp he could easily be our version of alex smith. with the switch to the 4-3 our defensive line would be absolutely ruthless with the addition of mathis or super mario. its time to just be smart and draft the BPA and keep building our team and go for a playoff birth. when you have a piece of trash owner like ross, it is what it is. he's going to bring in some "name" in another poor attempt at selling tickets to a franchise that has given me stomach ache after stomach ache year in and year out. our best bet is to keep matt moore, draft a mid round qb and if we suck trade up for barkley next year. this team isn't elite unless we get andrew luck and even he isn't taking us to the superbowl in year 1.

Either Peyton can throw the ball or he can't....it's that simple. Ireland needs to fly to Indy with Marshall and a couple other receivers (If Manning becomes a Free Agent) and see if Peyton can throw the short and long routes, slants and can go to his right and left. Reports are that he is throwing the ball pretty well. The next question is, "Does getting sacked/hit risk further injuring the area. or is a more of a nerve issue that may just have to run it's course over time." Sometimes you have degenerative issues like arthritis, scar tissue and things that have nothing to do with getting sacked or hit. I just hope Manning can play for at least three more years as he has been a class act and a guy you root for no matter where he ends up. I would love to see him in a Phin's uniform if he can play at close to what he once was.

IMHO, if Manning is 90% of his old self, we should sign him. I doubt that he will ever be 100%.
Having Reggie Wayne come along would be huge. He can still play and Manning and Wayne know how each play the game....IE..in route adjustments and knowing where to be on broken coverages. Wayne and Marshall would be a nice combo that will give DC's more to worry about.
I agree with Chance, draft Richardson with #8. He will give us the inside power rush production to go with Bush's inside / outside. He can also block for Bush in the 2 back set. Good hands too. He is as complete a back as they come. Combine that with Peyton Brandon and Reggie, we should have something special here.
The reports I heard today quoting Mortenson on 560 were that Peyton's nerve is regenerating well and he is showing excellent improvement.
He should be ready for training camp if all continues to go well.

i'm so sick and tired of this flynn talk. all this hype has greenbay pondering franchising the dude. i mean really? he was a damn 3rd round draft pick and now he's th second coming of...aaron rodgers? jesus F christ people. two games and this man is now worth 50 million? did anyone learn a damn thing from kolb? apparently not.

If Green Bay is who you wanna use as a blueprint, do you realize how deep they are at WR? We could use Reggie Wayne.

Would love it. Even if it does not work, there would be no regrets from going after one of the greatest QBs of all time. Plus, bringing Reggie Wayne with him would only make the transition that much easier.

reggie wayne and brandon marshall? slow and slower? wasn't the biggest problem with our offense the lack of speed considering we had a freaking white boy as our fastest reciever aside from clyde "can't catch the ball" gates?
