do you guys think Saban is making all these trade acquisitions and thoughts baout em at least so he can make a STRONNNG push at the SB this year in miami? I mean, every big name guy we consider via trade and I think its to fill holes so we can draft other needs in the draft. Walker for instance would prob be for next years draft and so is harrington. THen talks about moving down if someone is available in the STL spot

man i kinda feel foolish for asking, but how active has saban been in trade talks? I know that with harrington we are, and LaVAr in FA, but what other big names have we talked with? Thanks

Walker apparently and then moving up to the STL spot at 11 they are i believe and just things in general along those lines.

Of course Saban is trying to make push for Super Bowl...it is his job...however, I doubt he takes on Javon Walker(another injured player without a great attitude)...it would make a lot more sense to trade down to a pick in the 22 to 28 range and get a 2nd round pick as well...we need to add picks not give them away that includes next years draft...this draft is extremely deep and we could get two great players as opposed to a guy of near equal value at the 16th pick...I'm still trying to figure out why we traded AJ Feeley and a 6th rounder for Cleo Lemon...we lost a draft pick and a decent backup QB who knew the system for a nobody

yeah, i think we need to move down and get more picks as opposed to moving up. And I think walker would be a good addition to our team. anybody know what the packs are asking for him?

I don't know what they are asking...but all we should be willing to give is 6th or 7th rounders...and they definitely want more than that

If I am not mistaken the Pack is looking for a 1st round draft choice for Walker.

Got rid of Feeley's salary as well. He was making a lot more than Lemon and didn't fit into future plans.

And now want to add Harrington's salary? He makes more than Feeley and hasn't proved he is any better

walker for a 2nd is good, but a 1st is a little to much, his salary is very cap friendly also.

drew brees comes to mind

oh yeah and that guy culpe something

Saban obviously wants to win. But i think realistically he knows he probably wont bring the Dolphins to the Super Bowl this year, however through trades he can make them a much better team, make them very competetive and hopefully over the next several years have them playing in the late rounds of the playoffs. The moves right now are to boost morale really....because we haven't made the playoffs in five seasons, almost an unheralded drought for this franchise. He wants to get the fan interest up, fill seats, bring this orginization back to the top, and so far he's done a damn good job.

It's due diligence. If you can improve your team by making a trade that will fit into your framework, you do it. If some team like GB wants too much for Walker, you move on. But it never hurts to inquire.

The only way I'd be happy trading down is if we get a lower 1st and a 2nd out of the deal. As stacked as this draft is, we don't want to have only 2 first day picks.
