Im watching PTI and they were talking about Miami being a close 2nd to the Spurs for where he'd want to play, whatcha think, go after him?

If it is Robert Horry I say if we dont go after him were iddiots. I know shaq wants him as well as everyone on that team. What a clutch performer!

It is a clever sig but someone is gonna kick you off if you dont make some changes to the wording there :)

As for Horry if they can pay him more than San Antonio then by all means do so. Any time you can weaken a competitor for the title and strengthen your own team at the same time you go for it.

yea im in the process of doing that, i completely forgot that it had profanity in it

Maybe he signs here because it was a rumor he was interested last year also to play again with the Big Diesel. Now he has already won a title with Duncan. Maybe he wants to try again with Shaq and play with Super-star in the making D. Wade!

Horry is a nice player to have for the LLE at $1.6 million, but we don't have that due to giving it to Wesley Person last year & buying out his contract early. He's not worth part of the MLE, and I don't believe we're looking for a split anyways. With Bobby Simmons, Antonio Daniels, Jalen Rose(expected to be waived), Michael Finley(expected to be waived), and a few others out there who will be seeking the entire MLE, I doubt we wind up splitting it. And if we do go for the split, it's probably gonna be a combination like Donyell Marshall & Earl Watson.

Sh-t, if Horry wants to come here for the minimum to backup the PF spot with Wayne Simien, I'd be thrilled to have him. Lord knows we could use someone to turn it on come May-June, because outside of Shaq & Wade...everybody is somewhat of a question. His experience and three point shooting would make a significant difference, but due to his age & limitations, I can't see us giving him more than the minimum. I'm sure San Antonio is his preference right now, but it has been known that we are his second choice. If he opts to remain in SA, my choices for minimum pickups at the PF spot would be Brian Grant(expected to be waived) or Cliff Robinson's old ***.

Might I add....I'm loving this new CBA for the simple fact that there are a ton of players who can help us out(may it be for the MLE or minimum) & are now eligable/expected to be waived.

He's already a superstar. ;)

Dont the Heat have to give ShaqDaddy like a gazillion dollar contract this offseason? Horry isnt leaving the Spurs, why would he?

You obviously don't have the foggiest idea on how the NBA salary cap works.

The impression I got from listening to him is that he will go to whoever pays, assuming they are a contending team. If the spurs only offer the vet min and the heat or some other team give him part of their MLE he may bolt.

Guess not. Im an idiot for thinking that the Spurs will resign Horry without any issues and that Shaq wants to redo his deal (remember thats why he got traded). Boy Im an idiot. Thanks for straightening me out. Yeesh :shakeno: . Why would Horry leave for the Heat? The Spurs are a better team and the Heat arent going to offer more money.

Maybe that's why we're his second option? Who the hell said Miami was Horry's number one option? Read Suave's post again.

But yeah, obviously you don't have a clue about the NBA salary cap. It doesn't matter how much we give Shaq, and his deal will be re-worked, it will not effect our cap status.

Got damn, it's hard not to break the TOS on this board. ;)

Where did I say that the Shaq deal effects the cap status? I asked if the Heat have to give Shaq a gazillion dollars to resign him. I thought that would come before worrying about Horry. Why do people always have to turn things into flame sessions? Chill out for god's sake. Its a legitimate comment to wonder why Horry would come here, the Spurs have plenty of capspace and they just won a title, doesnt make any sense for the Heat to throw a ton of money at Horry and it doesnt make sense for him to leave unless they do.
