We have the home field. We are playing well. Gronk is out. But the matchup of our ability to finish and NE being so tough to put down - even when they look like you have them - has me concerned. The lateral play at the end of the game yesterday is just a prime example of how hard we make it when we win (or lose the close ones). Cleveland took their foot off the gas with a 12 point lead and got burned for two TDs in the last 1:03 of the game. NE has done this to teams all year. It's this part of the matchup - which has nothing to do with X's and O's and more to do with mental framework of these teams - that I'm worried about. I believe if we win, we will win out and make the playoffs as the Ravens are going to lose 1 of their last 3. I guess what I'm saying is as fine a job as Philbin is doing right now, he's not coaching this team as "complete" as Belicheat does. So what's they key to putting these guys down and keeping them down for 60 minutes?

My biggest concern.... the incompetent, paid-for refs
Game is being played in Miami. I think we might get a fairly officiated game. It only seems to be at Foxboro that the calls are bought and paid for. Can't let those Patriots fans go home disappointed.

Biggest concern: Coaching advantage for NE. Not good for Miami vs. the Pats.

I think the team has had this game circled on the calandar since the 2nd half let down in NE. I am very optimistic about our chances to win.

My main concern is that if we don't put enough distance between us and them approaching crunchtime - no doubt all on our own, considering they're still playing for home-field advantage, they end up winning yet another "ref-enabled" Cinderella game.

I share the same concern. I'm hoping we can start out fast, but the trick is maintaining that momentum and sealing it shut in the end. When the Patriots take the field this Sunday, there are no real superstars on that team besides Tom Brady; they are still talented and well coached, and that makes them dangerous every Sunday. Our Fins will have to play a complete game. I like our chances, we're at home in December, and our offense is playing it's best football right now.

It will come down to our coaches bringing their "A" game. Instead of our coaches responding on the fly to the Patriots ever-changing schemes, I'm hoping we flip the script, and make the Patriots coaches adjust to our schemes. Keeping them off-balance the entire game.

You know what I love to see, it ranks up there with beating the Jets. I love watching Belichick respond to the media after a loss, the kind of loss that he has no answers for. He is such a sarcastic son of a *****. Here's to watching another episode of that after this Sunday :brewskis:

right, and as a Jests fan, I'm going to assume you think the PI call at the end of the NE vs CLE game was legit

I thought that was a bad call as the back no back no calls were in your favor on Pitt's last real drive but NE still would have had a minute to score and they would have.

I hope you are right. I feel like we can beat these guys if we play 60 minutes. I just don't understand how NE seemingly comes back from near death as often as they do. It's as if you have to play 60 minutes to have a chance. They get to take entire halfs off and still pull games out of their arse (Saints, Browns, Texans, etc) in the end. It's not like they are just so much more talented than everyone else that they should be able to get away with this. Don't know if its coaching, other teams just choking, Roger Goodell's torrid love affair with Robert Kraft or what. But we need to get a lead on these guys and beat the snot out of cry baby Brady and go full throttle all game long.

NE is ripe to be picked off, this is a perfect spot at home for you guys. No excuses if you don't get it done.
