After watching the season unfold for Miami one thing became clear at the end of the season. Offensive line still needs improvement. In last years off season I think Miami tried to address this with Jake long and Smiley. However Miami still struggled to run the ball consistently. Smiley was also injury prone again and even when he was in the game we still could n't run the ball like we should have.

With Ricky and Ronnie I think Miami should be dominating teams with the running game. The is a huge advantage we have over teams by having two great backs. Hopefully they will spend the money this year and bring in some big names to make this line dominant. It will also take a lot of pressure of Chad too.

When the season started I figured next years top draft priorities would be corner and receiver. But now that the season is over I would rather the team get that big offensive line.

Even Buffalo late in the season was able to run the ball better then Miami with out using the wild cat formation.

Any how that's all I have. It was still a great season. Let me hear what other fans think. At least we don't have to worry about Quarterback anymore!

We had a weak interior on our o-line and it starts with Satele. He clearly was the weak link and Ndukwe at right guard was hardly any better. We need to build a strong interior at center and then at both guard spots. Satele, Ndukwe and Andy Alleman have no business being starters in the NFL

I agree completely. I would love nothing more than to beef up our O line so we can have a dominant running game. Having a running game is huge and will win you more ball games than a number one receiver will.

If the fins can't address the line by free agency then I would use both number 2 picks for the offensive line. With the first pick they can go corner or receiver depending on what we get in free agency.

We should be dominating in the running game with backs like Ricky and Ronnie. There is no reason why we should be struggling to get a 3rd and 2. Can't believe how many times I saw them not get a first down on a 3rd and 2.

Totally agree.

We could not run between the tackles and thats' how the Wild cat came about..., Interior line is pedesrian even with Smiley but Ireland will tell you Rome wasn't built in a day..., Carey ws over-weight this year... otherwise he is worthy of his cheese... He was the uncontested star of this very line maybe entire offense when we were 1-15 outside of RB who obviously got hurt...

You win with D first and our D needs upgrading. Our 1st 3 picks NEED to be on the D side of the ball unless someone falls into our lap like Merling did. We need to get bigger and faster on D and that is BP's strength in picking.

We need interior O-line and CB's. We need better quality and depth in the guards. Nobody ever mentions that we lost both our starting guards this year, that takes a toll on your O-line. Our CB's are getting old, and they are really not that good to begin with.

I agree, but I think "both lines" still need improvement, badly.

donald thomas (godsend) according to parcells is going to be back next year. If he can stay free from injury that will help. He is still pretty raw from what I remember reading but he has the build to be very good. I can't remember for sure but I think he played on the right side, but if he could move to the LG....that could be scary.

C... now that is a primary concern for me. satele just seems undersized to be utilized properly in a power running game. the dude just can't hack it with the nfls NT's. he's a pass blocker and a bit of a pulling guard type who is good in the open field. we need a stud Center who can maul people and get the good push a run game needs.

while I dont' think we will spend a first rounder on a C... I'd like to see it filled in some capacity.

as far as other needs go... we need a Stud Wr and a ballhawk CB.
followed by a safety opposite YB and a ILB to replace crowder who for some reason thinks a bunch of tackles merits being a top five paid ILB in the league.

How come nobody has mentioned a pass rush? We need to get a pass rush! Watching the games this weekend all I saw that was any different from our defense was a pass rush! We put no pressure on the QB the last five games!

I think the OL / DL need to be the main focus this off-season....

Just watching some of these playoff teams, you can see that's where we're lacking most in strength. Our OL was never able to establish itself running the ball outside of the wildcat formation, and the DL wasn't able to generate enough pressure on opposing QB's late in the season when it mattered the most. Upgrading in the trenches would be my #1 focus....

The #1 WR position should also be considered a high priority in my opinion. Camarillo / Ginn / and Bess are a very solid core, but adding a true stud would secure things for years. Housh anyone??...

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

I think both Kendall Langford and Phillip Merling started to come on towards the end. I think Ferguson gave his best effort but his days are past. We need a big push up the middle to move the pocket and create a better pass rush.

We need a C. SATELE isn't the type of C that MIAMI needs. JOHNSON's a more suitable back-up. But SATELE might be a decent RG. He "traps" and "pulls" very well.

IDDYPOOKU, or whatever his name is, isn't a true G: but he might very well be a decent OT. ALLEMAN will have to bulk up c. 10 lbs. But he DOES look like a solid G. So, if both SMILEY and D THOMAS make it back, then MIAMI needs bulking up from ALLEMAN and one big G more. SATELE is a back-up at G and C, and MIAMI's biggest OL need is a big, mauling C.

On the defensive side, FERGUSON's a solid NT, and I like the vast improvement that I've seen from SOLIAI. The reason that MIAMI still needs a NT, i/m/o, is FERGUSON's age. But he's got a year or two more, so NT isn't a BIG need. ILB and FS ARE BIG NEEDS. I'd go after BART SCOTT and that FS in St. LOUIS, bigtime. The only other need is another pass-rusher to play opposite PORTER. I'd look at MOSES in ROTH's position, as well as TORBOR, who was an OLB when he excelled w/the GIANTS. He's NOT an ILB. As to AYODELE and ANDERSON, I like both as depth, but not starters.

How MIAMI does in F/A, and developing some of its own young players, will dictate where PARCELLS and IRELAND go in the Draft.

I believe that C, RT, NT, FS, and WR will be addressed via FREE AGENCY and OLB, ILB, and CB will be addressed in the 1st DAY of the DRAFT....with depth at G, OT, and BPA's will be addressed in the 2nd DAY of the DRAFT.

I also expect Bell, Crowder, and Goodman to be re-signed.
