After going over my media guide last night some things stood out to me we havent had over 3 pro bowl tightends throughout team history. but we have had good luck at olinemen defensive linemen and dbs . Running backs we have had a few but not that many . what i also read is we reall have not put a offense on the field that would score lots of points which leads me to ask is it our defense or our Offense that cost us those 2nd round playoff games ?

They place in the AFC East which was once owned by New England but now by Buffalo. If they were in the AFC south, they will be probably would have had a playoff home game and possibly more.

Lack of a QB since Marino. Tua can definitely play, but he needs to stay healthy and needs a solid team around him- great TE (see what J Smith has brought to this O?) and a killer run game. Defense needs to be able to limit the other team to 17-21 points. That would help.

The Dolphins have been soft for 40 years. Even though out the Marino years; no running game or defense. Shula is the reason Marino never got a ring. Drafting screwups like Sammy Smith or not firing Tom Olivadoti. Now we have a weak owner who has never cleaned house.

I’m not seeing the option for “because Bumpus’ schlong is too damn girthy”

We have had bad management for a long time and we have made too many bad organizational and personnel decisions over many years.

Biggest reason has been they haven't been good enough. No even close to good enough.

Team gets to playing at a solid B level and our fan base says... "We're really an A, but the media just isn't giving us credit." Then when the team plays like a B level team those fans say "What a let down, time to tear things down and start over." Truth is this team is never as good or as bad as the fan base paints it out to be.

Build a team that can beat the Buffalo Bills and you give yourself a shot at the playoffs and home-field. We fail to do that against the Pat with Brady and we’re failing again with the bills and Allan

Easier said than done. How do you build a team to beat Allen? How would you have built a team to beat Brady?

The Pats had the best QB in the division from 2001 to 2019 except 2008 when Brady was injured, the one year we had the best QB in the division, Pennington, which was the one year we won the division in that span. Now the Bills have had the best QB in the division since 2020. Who know how much longer he is going to play.

It's a combination of things.

I think the biggest issue is the blueprint. What is Miami Dolphins football? In the 70's when the Dolphins won back-to-back super bowls, everyone knew what Miami's Dolphins football was.

Dolphins football was physical, smart, disciplined. Miami typically didn't make the kind of mistakes that cost games. Opposing teams knew they were going to leave the game black and blue and usually with a loss.

Grier went from Gase to Flores to McDaniel. The philosophy has changed back and forth, which has influenced continuity in the draft, free agency etc.

Above all, I think figure out what you want to be and build a team with that vision. There's obviously more, but that would be a good start.

As an example, the Pittsburgh Steelers haven't really changed their blueprint since I began watching football in the early 70s.
