Biggest Single-Season Turnarounds in NFL History; and the introducing"Mission 4W"

Incase you haven't noticed from what I post, the only 2 Dolphin sites I visit are FH and this other one that I link to when I see something good.

Today there's an interesting article about some of the best single-season turnarounds in NFL history. and the Dolphins could tie the record of +10 wins if they do indeed run the table.

the guy also dubs these final 4 games as "Mission 4W". Kind of catchy, I suppose.

Incase you didn't notice, those 10 teams were listed in order of regular season win improvement. Only 1 team in NFL history has even won 10 more games than they did the season before - the '99 Colts. The Dolphins are just 4 wins shy of matching that remarkable feat.


"Mission 4W." It's a simple concept. More importantly, it's a mission that can indeed be accomplished. These 10 teams above are proof that NFL teams can indeed rise from the ashes of a bad season and accomplish improbable feats the following season.


And while nobody seems to want to talk about our Dolphins outside of South Florida, there's going to come a time - whether it's in a week, or two weeks, or 3 weeks - that the rest of the league is going to take notice of what's happening in Miami.

I just got the chills. I literally have goosebumps. Heck yeah i'm pumped, to go from last season to this is incredible. Awesome thread

No, the Dolphins would beat the record of ten wins if they run the table, they would be 11-5.

:lol: he was talking about game improvements from one season to the next . . . we did win last year, even if Bmore gave us a hand lol.
 
The Atlata Falcons are also on course to hit the 10+ wins better than last season.

Finished 4-12 last season and are 8-4 at the moment. Find it amazing how the two of the worst teams in the league in 07 are now fighting for a spot in the playoffs this season.

My understanding of all this was that it's a +10 turnaround in amount of victories from the year before. The Colts are the only ones in NFL history who have made such a turnaround when they went from 3-13 to 13-3 the year after (1998-1999). We can tie that margin if we win out and go 11-5. The Falcons can't make a +10 turnaround, they would've had to have gone 14-2 for that to be true.

Atlanta would only have a +8 improvement if they win out.
They'd be 12-4 this year, and 4-12 last year = +8 game improvement.

Ours would be +10. (1 win to 11).
