no one trying to debate that he's a very good coach... but how many times has he been bailed out? the dolphins miss 2 FG, and he's so amazing.. they had 2 possesions, and did **** with them. miami gets atleast 2 attempts (and obviously failed at both)... The refs give the pats a break on an INT, which pretty much would have sealed the game. Tony Dungy (or whoever was calling the plays) does an awful job... he was outcoached by himself.. players faking injuries, BS calls, etc... then he takes a saftey.. it turned out good, but they punt it and Deltha Oniel and some other jackass think each other are going for the ball, and then they end up inside the 20... if the pats go into OT and they lose he looks like a real dumbass. i know you all would be on DW. ALL the breaks have gone the pats way. they have had injury issues in the WR department, but the jist of their plays are screens, more screens, then an offguard bomb. it's not like you need Marvin Harrison to run this offense.

they have a ton of depth on the team... they lose colvin, and WM comes in and doesn't miss a beat because he's a good player. ty law is hurt, and they have Asante Samuel who's an outstanding rookie. Harrison, and milloy are the SAME player... theres nothing different about them really.

when it's all said and done, the pats are a very good team... but they're also the most luckiest team i've ever SEEN! if miami had the same fortune early on we could be 9-3 or 10-2 as easily.. how many unlucky breaks have we had? T-buc makes a great play and BG fumbles AGAIN... Mare missed 2 FG.. ever since since he's 8/10. little things like that have lossed us games, but on the flip side those things seem to happen to that pats opp.

this whole "BB outcoached wannstedt week 7" thing is BS... miami had 2 chances to finish the game. BB didn't win it, and niether did DW lose it.

no one outchoached anyone... if BB loses to miami IN the SNOW... i wanna hear you still call him this amazing coach.

This must be one of the most ignorant posts ever.

Belichick prepares the Pats for EVERY scenario.

Belichick brought Poole, Harrison, and Colvin aboard. Belichick drafted those rookies. Belichick is the GM.

He IS great.

But I do feel that Brady deserves much of the credit for his success as well.

no one says he isn't a great coach... he is also lucky as hell. BB doesn't prepare for everything... he does as much as any coach. no one practices for the things that happen 1% of the time.

if any of the lucky things go a different way, we'd all be talking aout him being a moron.

there was a great post about DW vs. BB after NE won. it was something about BB being a genius and DW being a moron, but if mare makes 1-2 FG, it's a completeley different story... thats just the way it is.

Actually Brady deserves credit to Belichick for his own success. For giving him the chance to play, a 4th round pick.

Every team has a degree of luck and every team gets some calls and loses some calls...it happens in every game to every team.

But, the difference is what you do with your luck and what you do with your call and what you do with your breaks.

Some coaches, and some teams, know how to convert those things in to wins...and it requires a lot of dedication and a lot of on field guts and determination...

Teams that can do all those things and have those components, such as the patriots and Bill Belichick WILL turn them into wins while other teams WILL NOT.

It's that simple.

You must not watch football.

When the Pats played Miami, they changed to a 4-6 defense because they knew Ricky was the biggest threat and they could match up the corners on the Miami receivers.

Also, last week. That goal line stand. The week before, Belichick practiced that SPECIFICALLY because he saw the Bills game and how they constantly ran Edge from the 1 yard line. Because Belichick prepared his defense for that, they were able to stop it when it happened to them.

Also, Manning signaled to a run on that play by tapping his hip. Belichick during the game used a system to monitor what Manning did before each play. He then told his players what signals Manning for used each certain play. The only reason the Colts came back because then went no huddle and went away from the audible.

And Belichick is doing this with dozens of injuries. The Pats have started 42 different players. That’s two players short of TWO NFL teams.

Not that it really makes a difference, but Brady was a 6th round pick.

I have never seen such rampant meniacal raving about a team being lucky. What do you think the Pats and BB do, sacrifice chickens before a game and point the bones at the nose of a stuffed porpoise?? Get real, when players make mistakes its because they were not prepared. BB prepares his team better than any coach in the NFL. He's a perfectionist. Why do you think whiney little Beatches like Terry Glenn can't play for him and have bad things to say about him?? He demands excellence from his players and he gets it. Wanny by contrast is a great guy, everybody's friend, but no-where near the coach that BB is. The Pats will roll tomorrow, and if you want to call it luck, if it makes you feel better, go right ahead. When you are sitting at home watching the Pats march on in the playoffs this yr go ahead and call them lucky. And the next time the Pats hoist that Lombardi trophy high in Houston, go ahead and call them lucky if it makes you feel better.
This rhetoric is the lament of losers, and winners don't whine or make excuses. So you chose are you a winner or a whiner??

Bill Belichick is a good coach might be the best in the NFL, let others argue that point. My point is that you either make plays or you dont! Did Bill Belichick have anything to do with the Fins mishing two field goals, other than picking the right side of the field for OT no. Luck had nothing to do with that. Diffence between Patriots and Dolphins is the Patriots have to this point made more plays. The entire coaching staff puts the team in a good postion to make plays. The exploit other teams and make them do things that normally they wouldnt. Take tomorrow as an example, Ricky will get some yards no question he is a great player, however it will be up to Jay Fiedler to try and win the game. The way the Patriots have game planned this point in the year is to take away the opponents best offensive weapon and make them try and beat us with something they dont normally do. some other intresting stats are the Patriots are in the top five in the enire NFL with plays over 25 yards, its a misconception that all they do is screens, we take our shots down the field as much as anyone. As most people here would tell you both Patriot fans and Dolphin fans, most would want Bill Belichick as thier coach over wandstat, you would always want a head coach who has proven to be one of the best in his field and who has won a championship as a head coach, not to many of those type of head coaches in the NFL.

That was a different time. When the coach really didn't matter as much. I admit he is great, but the talent level on his teams was amazing.

And give Belichick a couple more years.

Dont forget the team practised the saftey they used in Denver, mind you snaping the ball out of the end zone is not hard but how many other teams practise that senerio! Patriots are the most prepared team in Football bar none.

Shula sure left Miami in a blaze of glory didn't he?? Canned under cover to be replaced by Jimmy Johnson and the finz didn't even have the guts to admit that they were firing him. Way to treat a Hall member!

Don never coached when the Salary Cap was in effect. Don was a great football coach but it was a different era for football.

It's Belichick, not Bellichek.
