When asked about the Dolphin's he said:

Kevin (Beverly, MA): SG, what are the chances the Dolphins win the AFC East this year or next year?

Bill Simmons: (1:34 PM ET ) A lot lower now that they got into bed with Culpepper - that was Isiah-esque. He's the Marbury/Francis of the NFL. I was delighted - the Dolphins scared the hell out of me next season.

Wow I saved this little quote and can't wait to throw it back in his face in 9 months.:fire:

I've never heard of this buffoon. It's quite obvious that he's a moron and doesn't have any football knowledge whatsoever.:fire: :dolphins:

Bill Simmons is great!! Hoewever I agree can't wait to rub it in his face. "Now we can die in peace!"

I'm thrilled by that post. Last week, I wrote him the following email:

Sports Guy-
Now that the Dolphins have traded for Daunte Culpepper, I wanted you to know I'm setting the over-under on your first smart-@$$ article knocking the Dolphins and talking about how the Patriots are still the best as March 22.

OK, it wasn't an article, but I'm still claiming it as a victory.

Edit: Incidentally, I think Simmons is the most entertaining sportswriter alive right now, even accounting for his homerism.

Welcome to last year. ESPN and all of them were saying that there is no way we would win more then 6 games with Saban as our coach and we all know what happened. Let them say dumb **** like that because we will once again shove their words up their ***.

This guy runs the circus on ESPN's Page 2, so I wouldn't take what he says seriously.

Besides, who cares anyway? It's just some other human being's opinion

good, i love people hating on us, we were under dogs last year, and i want to be the under dogs this year. let them hate on us, let them doubt us, cause when we prove them wrong, we can all laugh at them like we did at the end of last season. the masses are the *****, remember that guys.

He is a very funny writer. I always look forward to his articles. He's just a big Pats fan, so the comments weren't that unusual. Really nothing to get worked up about.

He is a die hard New England Fan... what else do you expect him to say?

Oh, and a damn good writer.

I love to read Simmons and look forward to his posts every week on ESPN.com. He's got the perfect mix of pop culture and sports knowledge in every article. That being said, he is an unabashed Patsies homer and probably wouldn't be too happy with any other team beefing up the AFC East. I am kinda with him, though, in that I'm not entirely thrilled with acquiring Culpepper. I trust Saban, but I'm not entirely sure this is gonna be the blockbuster acquisition that many are calling it. I wouldn't mind being wrong about that.

You obviously haven't read any of his stuff before. This guy is one of the funniest guys on the Internet and his columns are hilarious. To be honest, after all of his columns, I'd feel better with him being a GM of an NBA or NFL team. He always makes valid points and backs them up, and he was actually thrilled last year if you look in his archives on how satisfying it was to have another competent NFL coach in the league with Saban. To quote...

(about the Broncos game which he picked the Phins) "Anytime Nick Saban has a summer to gameplan for Jake Plummer, I don't care if he's coaching the Dolphins, LSU, or Miami-Dade High, I'm going with Nick Saban."

I wouldn't diss the Sports Guy, probably the one sports writer I'd like to meet and be friends with even though he is a Pats fan.
