Grading the Bills
Running game
B Lynch and Jackson combined for 102 yards and 4.4 per carry. But team couldn't play ball control when game got out of hand late.
Passing game
D Edwards had worst game of season. Made some poor decisions and bounced some throws. Good coverage by Dolphins. Drops didn't help matters.
Run defense
B Held the Fish to 1.9 yards a carry and long run of 12 yards. Wildcat attack didn't hurt them much. It seemed worse, somehow.
Pass defense
F Ginn's career-best performance brought back grim memories of Chambers in 2005. McGee roasted to a crisp on his bad knee. Pass rush was weak.

Grading the Dolphins
Running game
C- Vaunted Wildcat didn't do much damage. Did have some effective runs in opening TD drive, and Williams blew through Bills on winning TD run.
Passing game
A What was that about Pennington not being able to throw the ball downfield? He'll move past Trent in league QB ratings.
Run defense
C Seemed ready to fold when Bills had big drive to start second half. But got off the hook when Bills imploded in stretch.
Pass defense
A Made Edwards look like a rookie. Tight coverage forced Trent to hold ball too long at times. Got pass rush at critical moments.

agree for the most part, except id give our Running game a C+ as we did pick up some first downs on the ground, and our Run D a B-. we were stuffing them most of the game except that long drive where jackson ran right through us.

You know, its funny that with the consistency that Edwards has shown this year, most people forget that he is only in his second year.

Of course I would not ever expect Ginn to get any props.

Is all cool 2 and 1 in division. Much better than last year

no disrespect, but why are bills fans one week praising him but make excuses for him when he messes up by saying "this is only his second year".......im just saying........don't label him an elite QB then try to cover up his mistakes

Pretty fair grades man, we played a great game that's for sure!

The way I see it though, the numbers aren't that cut-and-dry. Even though our running game didn't produce big numbers, it attracted a lot of attention... maybe that's part of the reason our passing game did so well? I'd give our ground game a solid B for occupying 8 at the line alone. The Bills #1 priority must have been to stop us from running wild... and we did something right because the Bills stuck with their gameplan the whole game. Even late, they weren't shifting another guy into coverage becase they had to respect the damage we could do running the ball.

I'm a Dolphin fan through and through (obviously), and I realize that this wasn't directed at me, but I'd LOVE to have Trent Edwards on the Dolphins. He was the QB I wanted in the draft and I was quite bummed when we drafted Beck instead with Edwards still on the board. I was even more bummed when Cam revealed that he would have picked Trent Edwards if Beck hadn't been there. OK, I didn't think we'd have a shot at Quinn, but when we passed on him I thought, ahhh, so we're targeting Trent Edwards ... if he stays healthy he can be even better!

Trent Edwards may not be an elite QB quite yet, but he is one of the best young QB's in the league IMHO. As effective as Pennington has been--and I've been ecstatic to get him since I heard he was coming--I'd prefer Trent Edwards 7 days a week, and twice on Sundays.
