The
Buffalo Bills decided not to draft a tackle to replace
Jason Peters.
That doesn't mean they're out of options. As expected, the
Cincinnati Bengals have released left tackle
Levi Jones, who became expendable when they drafted Alabama tackle
Andre Smith sixth overall.
Buffalo is among a short list of obvious landing pads for the 6-foot-5, 307-pound Jones to land, although the Phoenix-area native and Arizona State grad has expressed an interest in playing for the Cardinals. That appears doubtful.
The Bills or Detroit Lions are much more likely.
The Bills traded Peters, a two-time Pro Bowler, to the
Philadelphia Eagles a week before the draft.
The Bills have stated they likely will switch right tackle
Langston Walker to the left side and move right guard
Brad Butler out to tackle.
Jones started the first 10 games at left tackle last year before a leg injury ended his season. In seven seasons with Cincinnati he played in 94 games, starting 89.

Joey Porter probably would love to see Jones back in the AFC East.
In March 2007, after a verbal altercation at the Palms casino in Las Vegas,
Porter jumped Jones at a blackjack table. Porter eventually pleaded no contest to assault and paid a $1,000 fine. The NFL fined Porter $141,176 -- the equivalent of three game checks.
