As they prepare for their season opener Monday night, Gang Green is dealing with a burgeoning scandal over the treatment of Ines Sainz, a sports reporter for TV Azteca of Mexico, during a weekend practice.
Sainz, 32, a former Miss Universe contestant, complained she was bombarded with catcalls and boorish antics at the Jets' New Jersey training facility to the extent she wanted to "cover my ears."
Defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman fueled the antics, tossing pigskins in Sainz's direction.
NY Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman accused of slapping woman at N.J. restaurant
Jessie Steinberg, 28, filed a police report against Thurman, 58, following an encounter at Pazzo Pazzo on Wednesday, saying he slapped her after she rebuffed his advances. Thurman was not charged with a crime, and a Jets spokesman said the team was looking into the allegations.
MZ Sports has obtained a letter from a female chiropractor sent to Jets brass in 2010 … raising serious concerns about strength and conditioning coach Alosi. According to the chiropractor, Alosi got into a “fistfight” with Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis. The doctor added Alosi has a pattern of abusive behavior and the Jets needed to get him under control.
An Instagram post that appeared Thursday afternoon inviting women to attend a private party being hosted by Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy in Philadelphia has been removed.
Women attending the party were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, according to a response sent from the email address listed on the Instagram post.
The photo in the Instagram post used a Bills logo behind a headshot of McCoy. The Bills issued a statement Thursday afternoon on the matter.
"We have reached out to LeSean and informed him that players are not permitted to use team marks for personal use without prior permission from the team," the statement said.
Women wishing to attend the party had to be 21 years or older and send the promoter a photograph and a link to their social media profiles in order to RSVP.
The Buffalo Bills found themselves in the news following the arrest of offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, and it appears as though that tie will be severed.
According to sources, the Bills are likely to part ways with Kromer as one of the team's key positional coaches. Kromer had been charged with a misdemeanor count of battery after an incident involving three minors outside his Florida beach home.
