Hearing the news that Nick Saban was headed to Alabama. Yippee!!!!!! The Patriots just lost the biggest coaching threat in their division!!!!! You'll hear no "Nick Saban is a lying scumbag" comments from this guy. For one thing, coaches pull this crap all the time -- they switch schools, switch teams, jump back and forth from college to the pros, and only remain loyal to themselves and their bank accounts. So this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. When we go more than three months without a visible coach boning over a pro team or a college, let me know.

But here's why I enjoyed this particular bone job so much: Last spring, Saban was deciding between Drew Brees and Daunte Culpepper and ended up signing the wrong guy. Huge mistake on about 20 different levels, but the important thing to remember is that one decision killed Miami's entire season. And he made it. Anyway, the season finally ends and Saban says to himself, "Well, I can kill myself working 16 hours a day trying to make it work in a tough division with Culpepper, Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon as my QBs ... or I can get a fresh start with the most famous coaching job in college football for $32 million guaranteed. Hmmmmmm."

I mean ... OF COURSE he was going to leave! Did you really think he was sticking around? I'm surprised he didn't leave treadmarks. So Saban rides off into the sunset, never to be seen again, and the poor Dolphins fans wake up tomorrow and they're still stuck with Culpepper, Harrington and Lemon. How is that fair? I hope the Dolphins fans band together and break the record for "most turd sandwiches ever FedEx'd to one person

Bill Simmons will be the one crying and eating a turd sandwich next weekend when LT runs all over his Patsies.

If he actually is happy Saban left then he really has no clue about the Phins. Not only was Saban a liar, but he was just not a good coach. Maybe he was impressed by our win over the pats, but aside from that one and the bears game, most of this season was a train wreck. I was rapidly losing confidence in Saban before the rumors hit a crescendo.

This whole thing really sucks, I haven't felt this low about the Phins in a long time...in fact never.

I sure have.........62-7 comes to mind immediately, as does the loss to the Pats in the '02 finale.

I hate the Jag..

I hate the jag, the propellers, the panties, the idiotill's, Notre Danm and NOW Satan with the short tide. GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

Ps And we will go with whatever qb we got, i don't care anymore, we could have a peguie league coach for all i care ,but this are my DOLPHINS for life

After this season, I don't know how anyone can say Saban was a bigger coaching threat to New England than Mangini.

I think Saban was a good coach. He just should have stuck to coaching. His problems arose from the executive power he was given. He made a bad personnel decision w/ Culpepper, and a worse decision in hiring Mularkey as OC. I couldn't believe it when it was announced, and I still can't.

I don't think he is a good coach on the NFL level at all. He is clearly an example of someone who just doesn't get it. He is set in his ways of coaching and if they don't work--which they didn't, he panics.
He cannot handle the parity of the NFL and he does not know how to handle his staff.

WTF do you go out and hire all these damn assistants only to NOT use them??
Why hire Mueller if you are not going to use him??
Saban belongs in Alabama. He made some stupid decisions while in Miami and couldn't make up his mind to save his life. "ummm should I throw the red flag or not??"

I wouldn't be so sure about that....

I think Saban was good when he really wanted to win. He pulled out major upsets, but he was no good at the small stuff.

He couldn't get our team ready to play the home, inter-conference rivals which are the games that really count...

We are better off, no doubt about it. The off-season is exciting now...
