The Associated Press reports the San Francisco 49ers have claimed S Darnell Bing (Raiders) off waivers.

Can't believe they let him go after one year. I really thought he'd be good in the NFL. Guess that shows how hard it is to play Safety in college, and then try to move to LB in the NFL

Man, I would much rather see Bing in San Fran with a good defensive coach than in Oakland. He was a great safety in college, I dunno why they moved him to LB. I hope they move him back to safety in San Fran.

John Crumpacker, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports San Francisco 49ers S Darnell Bing will make the transition from linebacker to safety with the team. He was used as a linebacker by his former team, the Oakland Raiders.

Wonder why the Drug Dealers..I mean the Raiders would use him at LB, they drafted him from USC as a Safety.

I was hoping we would have picked him up in the draft.

He will be a solid Safey. Not sure he has the greatest cover speed, but he will be good if he moves closer to the line. I have a feeling that SF is going to sneak up on people. That O keeps getting better, and that D is young and tuff.
