A rookie who got 5 snaps in his first game in the NFL is taking way to big of a blast from some of you.
The blame can go to many places but to call him a waste and to say some of the things i am reading is just funny.
I know with that pick we could of got a player to help us more right now but if he helps win a few games later with his big play ability that this team lacks than its not so much of a waste huh?

Pat White deserves no blame. He did what he was asked to do for the most part.

The only thing is that he's a rookie who pretty much didn't play at all in the preseason and all of a sudden he's thrown behind an offensive line that can't block the broad side of a barn in front of a vicious Atlanta crowd.

People do have a right to an opinion. I see no reason for him to be on the field at this point but thats my opinion. And yes I would rather have a player that will be starter at some point than a situational qb. TE, Rb, LB , WR , CB , OL and so on would be much better served. I see White as a system Qb , look at his replacement so far. Can you see much differance in West Virginia's offense or the so called accuracy of the qb.

It was kind of neat to see the fun stuff they've drawn up for him. Eventually it will start to work. I don't think it was smart to try it all on the road in a hostile environment. Might have better to debut it next week at home and build some confidence.

I don't blame Pat at all. I blame Chad and Fasano for having butter fingers and giving away the ball.

Nobody's blameing Pat White that I know of. He just highlights a wasted 2nd round pick is all. Our 2nd round pick played all of five snaps and accomplished nothing. It's not Pat White's fault we lost this game at all.

He just didn't help us, and maybe another, wiser draft pick would have.

Impossible to put the blameof this loss on White. Yes he overthrew a wide-open Ginn but that is not reason to put the blame of the loss on him. The team played bad as a whole.

i do not think he was drafted primarily as a wildcat player. Obviously the trifecta saw he could play and not everyone makes an impact immediately. I say give the kid a chance. Hes a playmaker and a hard worker and he threw a good deep ball, it went deep didnt it...i know how everyone around here LOVES the deep ball. Its all they seem to talk about.

Theres first round picks who dont even see that many snaps in a game so whats your point?

My point it that a situational QB is a wasted pick. Nothing that's happened in the pre or regular season has done anything to change my mind.

U did not see all those scoring drives he lead in preseason.

Who said he was drafted as a situational QB? Maybe they dont think Henne's got what it takes? I highly doubt Bill Parcells would draft a guy to play a hanful of plays a game that high in the draft. It doesnt make sense. They have bigger plans for him than being a wildcat player.

In the preseason he played the 4th quarter with all backups. Never saw him with the first team offense (like it makes a difference) so we really dont know what hes capable of. He just looks confused. He just needs time to get used to it and eventually he'll look like he belongs out there.

I've made an effort not to belabor my absolute fury with the Pat White pick. I hate this pick more and more every day and I've not seen anything that refutes my opinion of him.

I will remain calm and not melt down, but, I really really hate the pick still.

Drafting Pat White was a luxury pick. A really good complete team can afford to draft gimmick players like him. Miami needs people who can play and help now. There are just too many holes on the Miami team for management to burn a 2nd round pick on a gimmick player. A fast WR was much more of an need than a 6 foot tall 180 pound option QB.

Things will slow down for White. He needs some time. He's got some talent.
