It sounds good...in theory. Unfortunately, we rarely seem to get to the QB when we blitz.
One thing I will say about our blitz . . . I am starting to have the confidence in our CB's in man coverage . . . so if we don't get there, these guys can stay close enough to the WR to make any gains minimal after the catch.
But we gotta start getting better penetration on our blitzes.

I wish I was as comfortable as you with our CBs. I do agree that they've been playing alot better. Whenever we blitz and don't get there, and the opposing QB let's the ball go, my heart stops.
40 sacks over the season, 8th in the league. We got to them.
I said "starting" . . .
. . . I'm still not as comfortable as I would like to be, but I can honestly say I used to hate when we blitzed . . . especially last year, because we would NEVER get there.This year we haven't gotten there much either, but usually we are disruptive enough to force a bad throw. But the CB play has been the best I have seen since maybe the Madison/Surtain days . . . so my comfort level is getting better.

I'd be curious how many of those were the direct result of a blitzing LB, safety or CB. Maybe it's just me and my stress level when I see us fail to get to the QB on a blitz. Regardless, we absolutely have to find a way to get to Flacco OFTEN today.
anyones stress level will go up when you blitz and dont get to the qb. i have faith they are going to bring the heat today.
I agree. OUr Dline hasnt gotten a ton of pressure the last month or so and they didnt against Balt early this year. Balt is one of the few teams you can afford to blitz with a banged up Mason and Clayton. They should be able to contain them with man to man. They cannot let Flacco just sit back and pick them apart, cause he is a good pocket QB. Pressure on Flacco will be key.

First and foremost, stop the run. Put eight in the box and make them pass. Then, blitz the crap out of the rookie. Make it a game of Pennington vs. Flacco and we will win.
