Hey guys, just got back last night and I only got on the internet for a couple minutes the whole time I was down in Miami. Stayed at the Sheraton Bel Harbour and had a real good time for anyone who cares, but I only made it out to one practice (I went down Thrusday afternoon just as the sky decided to explode). My first practice at the stadium and a good experience, here's what I saw:

On Offense, I would give a slight edge to Feeley out there. Gus was a little bit more consistent but I feel like that was more due to circumstance (a little worse protection at times, and WR's not getting open as much when A.J was in there), but A.J made a few big time throws. One he put over double coverage to DT in the endzone, who dropped it. The other time it was an identical throw only this time DT hauled it in for what would have been a 30-35 yard TD. He also hit Booker in a redzone drill with a dart that Marty did a great job getting his feet in bounds and completing the play. Rosenfels was fine, Berlin gave me a chance to go out for a couple of cigarette breaks.

Ricky looks real quick blah blah blah same thing every one has been saying, just I got to see it in person. Same vision, instincts, running skills. I'd have him put on 5-10 more and that's it. The guy can flat out play say what you want to say about him, and as a PART of the Offense and a PART of the team he is going to help this club win a lot of games. Didn't watch Gordon a whole lot, or Morris, or Minor. Kay Jay Harris did a couple of things in the open field that caught my eye; some nice quickness, vision, elusiveness out of that guy atleast on one play that had me quite impressed.

Booker made a couple of nice grabs and also dropped a few. The guy is a very good reciever and it's hard for me to worry about him. Same goes for Chambers who had a quiet night. Boston was quiet. He did show good concentration on one pass that was tipped and he came up with it. McMichael looks big, strong and fast. The same guy who was our BEST offensive player last year although that's not saying much. He made a very nice grab down the middle from Frerotte, I think. Liked what I saw from Kendall Newson, and definetly Bryan Gilmore. Guys with Chambers, Booker, Boston, Thompson, Gilmore and Newson/Davis....does anybody realize that we have a REAL, STRONG WR corps for the first time in a long time. Deep, talented with a good blend of youth and experience. And check this, DONALD LEE HELD ON TO A COUPLE OF PASSES!!! There's my highlight.

Watched the OL for a little while but the 1 on 1's were on the far field so that section was hard to tell on a little bit. Carey looked good, I'll tell you that much. So did Hadnot, as usual, at both center and guard. Middleton is a big, big man who can play. If healthy he is a very good Right Guard who will make a hell of a right side along with McDougle. The line WILL be Carey, James, Hadnot, Middleton, McDougle. I am certain of all of that except for James; he dissapointed last year and he's had the health problem so far this camp. Hopefully he'll be fine health-wise and will be the player that was so solid on Carolina's line two years ago. If not, Mid could play the left side with St. Clair/McKinney (who is a terrible center but still a decent guard) on the right. I am really hoping that Mid stays healthy because I want McIntosh as the swing tackle, not having to mess with him at Guard. Guys, this line isn't perfect I'll tell you that much but when you talk about this group of guys and the level that they're playing at with Houck in the mix, you have to get a little excited. Huge right side, potential pro-bowl center with the ability and intelligence of Rex, pretty young guard who started on a great line for a superbowl team and a first round pick Left Tackle who looks like he was very worthy of the pick? I don't know. Then you got Mac and St. Clair for depth, t his Salaam kid has toughness and he could play. We shall see but I for one am feeling pretty good and very excited about this group.

The Defensive Line talent on this team is scary. Was DT a CONCERN at some point? Let's see. Traylor, who by the way does NOT look line he is in bad shape. Actually, in this weather he looks as good as he has looked the past few seasons. There is your nose and that's where they have Zgonina playing also. Manny Wright is a NT also, who can play the base DT as well. Holiday is a defensive tackle and I think that is HIS spot in this defense. Then you got Vickerson who is a big dude with a lot of energy. Without Chester, we line up Traylor-Holiday in the 4-3 with Zgonina, Wright and Vickerson rotating in. 3-4 those guys can all rotate. WITH Chester if he can make it back which would just be a BONUS, we're even better. Then you got Carter-Taylor at end with Roth bringing that enthusiasm on pass rush downs, and a vet in David Bowens. I'm sorry if I sound biased because I am usually pretty level headed and realistic but this is going to be the best defensive line in the NFL. There it is.

Didn't watch the linebackers all that much, got to meet Crowder for a minute. Big dude who just looks like he belongs. Told me the knees are 100%. Interesting. Spragan, I think, is a litttttttle bit of an upgrade over the reggae king of linebackers, Morlon Greenwood.

Tebucky Jones is #24 right? Him, or whoever 24 is if I'm confused, had one heck of a pass breakup in 7 on 7's. Watched Daniels for a little bit and he's another guy that looks like he belongs. Tall, rangy and he plays the ball. I like the safety depth now that we've added Schulters, and I think we;re ok at corner especially with Sammy on one side with some confidence. Howard looked decent as well.

No comment on the Mare, Turk or Jones. Not because it's bad just because I didn't really care enough to watch. Jones did have one boomer.

Saban gave that speech that you've all heard about now, to the fans. Pretty good stuff, got me pumped. Got Ricky, Crowder, Roth, Frerotte, and Booker to sign. Very nice night, nice time and I'm gonna say this so nobody forgets it. As sad as this is to say; IF FEELEY PLAYS AS WELL AS FIELDER THE FIRST COUPLE OF SEASONS, THIS IS A PLAYOFF TEAM. NOT NEXT YEAR. NOW. I haven't seen a Dolphins team this deep with this good a blend of vetern and young talent in a long time and I am PUMPED, man. And that's without Ronny in camp. Speaking of which, got my #23 White yesterday in South Beach. Let's give a good effort tonight and I want to see good stuff from the first team line, and the Had-Mid Center/RG Combo, as well as a good performance from Feeley, Frerotte, and the Rickster.

Great report.....

I especially like the part about Feeley playing at least as good as Fiedler. I think that's almost a given that he will be at least that good. And with his arm to take advantage of the defense keying on our running game, I think he'll be better than Jay ever was.

Great report. Its good to hear that the offense clicked.
