Two games left in the season and the team controls its own playoff destiny. All they have to do is win out against the Bills and the Jets, and they're in. Instead, they get outscored 39-7 and miss the playoffs. The team looked completely uninspired.
Joe Philbin did not have this team prepared. They lacked intensity and focus. It's his responsibility to mentally prepare the team for these types of games. Because of his inability to do so, he deserves to be fired.
Many people have called for Jeff Ireland to be fired for a few seasons now. If he's still with the team come next season, I'll be severely disappointed. His drafts have been lackluster and this team lacks depth at several positions.
The play calling has been a joke. Mike Sherman is Dan Henning levels of bad. His play calling has been predictable and stale. When we're running well, he abandons it. When we're throwing well, he wastes a down on a 1 yard run.
I'm perfectly okay with missing the playoffs as long as it means these ****ing idiots won't be employed by this team next season.
